First shoes

A package for me full of lots of jammies and a sweater and stuff arrived from some friends in a faraway place called Edmonton today, and it made everyone's day. Also, I got to try on my first pair of shoes, which were given to me weeks ago by my "Cool" Uncle Gareth, before he moved away to another country.
I don't want to go to sleep.

but i still object to 'cool' being in quotes.
i don't feel like my coolness should be qualified by punctuation.
