Drug-Fueled Grocery Shopping

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning Cool Uncle Gareth came over, so I was pretty excited to see him. Of course, now my Daddy has an iPhone, so Cool Uncle Gareth's iPhone has lost some of its lustre.

After Daddy woke up and we all had some lunch, Mommy and Daddy took me to the grocery store so that we could all do our grocery shopping. That place sure is a zoo on the weekend! Daddy was kind of out of it due to his pneumonia meds, which made it (especially the drive home) a little more interesting than usual.

We stayed home and watched Canada win a lot of gold medals in the Olympics today. Daddy and I did a lot of drawing together, Mommy made us some dinner, and I had an awesome bath before bed.

Clover wins Gold!!!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I had a quiet morning and then after lunch I went to school - and what happened during the day is something of a mystery to everyone, depending on who I tell. As far as Daddy can tell, we had 'Olympics' at school, and I won Gold in the co-ed one-person hockey game (against a boy). Thus, I came home wearing a gold "Clover Olympics' medal, which I proudly showed off to everyone.

Daddy came home a little earlier than usual to do some work, which kinda made me sad - Mommy was sewing, my Grandparents were busy, the computer was occupied, Daddy's iPhone was in use... nobody would really give me the time of day. I was so annoyed I actually went to bed and had a nap!

After dinner there was some drama over whether or not I was gonna get dessert, but I wined and complained too much and didn't get any. It's okay, I'm in for a treat - Cool Uncle Gareth came over while I slept!

Girls Rock!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Daddy stayed home from work again today, due to (a) being tired (b) having no computer at work still and (c) being sick. It didn't stop him from doing tons of work from home anyway, which frustrated me because I wanted to play video games while he was on the computer.

School was good today - not much to report, really. Daddy was kind enough to pick me up (Mommy's coming down with an awesome cold), and I proceeded to throw a huge surprise birthday party for Annabelle! It was a lot of fun - all of my toys showed up, and Annabelle got what she wanted for her birthday - a new toy bat (one of my leftover Pink Batman batarangs that she named "Batty"). She really appreciated the surprise.

Daddy missed the party because he went to the Doctor's to see about his case of Walking Pneumonia. When he came home we had dinner and watched the Olympics - so many Canadian women have won medals, Gammy taught me that "Girls Rock!". Daddy asked if he rocked too, and I told hm he did - but only because he's my Daddy, and not because he's a boy.

New Furniture

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Daddy slept in a bit, but then headed off to work - soon afterwards, the furniture delivery guys showed up with our couch! Luckily, Mommy had spent a good chunk of time disassembling our big futon (which her and Daddy got right after they got married) to make room.

We ended up putting the old futon mattress in my room, which is good - I finally have a mattress that fits the will width of my bed. The new couch is nice, but really really tall. Basil is pretty put out - he liked the old one, and has a really difficult time climbing onto the new one.

I had a pretty good day - school was fine, and when I came home I drew pictures and visited with my Grandparents (I'm glad to se Grandpa again). Before bed, I got to watch part of tonight's big hockey game - Daddy's hooting and hollering from the living room is keeping me up, though.

Puffer / Medicine / Sticker

[As transcribed by Daddy]

So Daddy went to work this morning... ...and then came right back home because his HD melted or something. Let's hope he hasn't lost his .mp3 collection.

Anyway, he drove Mommy and I to the subway - I had a Doctor's appointment, which went pretty well! I got a puffer (for my cough) and some medicine (for my ears) and a sticker (for being awesome). Once I got home, Daddy took Mommy and I to the mall for some bubble tea to reward my being good. He also picked up a new iPhone for himself, knowing he was gonna need it.

He then proceeded to endure a marathon 22-hour (!) work session at the computer at home. Meanwhile, Mommy and I went about our day as normal. Playing, dinner, Olympics, bedtime. Grandpa came home.

The Worst Spaghetti in Recorded History

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Not much to report about today - I didn't end up going to school today, party due to whatever illness I seem to have (and that brutal ear infection and sinus headache from yesterday) and partly because Mommy is also sick and wasn't up for walking me to school.

Having said all of that, I was feeling pretty good today. Well, pretty good until right before Daddy got home from work, that is. In the middle of a massive snowstorm, the earache returned - only this time in my other ear and I was an out-and-out basket case. I couldn't stop crying and wouldn't let Mommy leave my side for so much as a second... before long the headache was gone, but I had worked myself up into such a frantic state that everyone was worried I was gonna hyperventilate.

But Daddy made me laugh and drew me a bath, and it really seemed to calm me down. It almost made up for what he made for dinner - the world's worst spaghetti in recorded history.

Under Pressure

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning I helped Mommy (who's coming down with my cold, it seems) make some scones, which we served to Daddy in bed. Pretty nice! As soon as he was up, Mommy did some tidying outside while he worked - the weather really warmed up, so he took some photos of me frolicking in the yard.

We went to the mall - I bought some of those nifty Olympic Mittens! We took a drive over to the cemetery for a nice walk, but I developed an extremely sore ear and heavy sinus pressure, so we went home after getting a mint tea.

I napped on the couch while Mommy tried to take care of my headache, and was pretty iffy with food. Here's hoping that I sleep really well tonight... maybe we'll go to the doctor tomorrow.

Couching

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I had a nice morning with Mommy today as Daddy slept in a bit. I watched some television, played some video games, and ate breakfast - after Daddy got up, we watched some Olympics and had some lunch.

Early into the afternoon we loaded into Grandpa's car (Grandpa's at a convention in California right now) and drove out to finally buy ourselves a new couch! Awesome! Then we drove over to Yorkdale to do some looking for a new bathmat, something to snack on, and a cellphone kiosk. We picked up two of those three things.

We headed home after a drive through the outdoor mall, did some tidying, and then Lisa and Leo came over to play and to have dinner. For some reason, Leo couldn't wait to go home, and I couldn't wait to go to bed. Go figure!

Tapir Trophy

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I had a nice morning - we set up my little puppet theatre thing and set up a pretend food stand. Fun times! I headed off to school after a little bit of lunch (again, my appetite seems to come and go) where I played with my friends and stuff.

After school, Mommy and I went on a hunt for some of the kind of play food that I had fun with at Clare's house yesterday. At the toy store, while we didn't find suitable play food - we DID manage to find something Daddy's been trying to buy for me for YEARS - a Schleich tapir toy! I didn't see the big deal (I'm over the Tapir, believe me), but Daddy was happy to see it when he came home from work.

Mommy and I played restaurant with Cinnamon Bunny later on in the day, I played some video games, and we watched more Olympics on TV. Sadly, I'm still not sleeping well due to coughing / talking / dreaming.

Dressing Ken

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning I was sneezy, wheezy, sniffly and a little bit coughy - but still really excited to go over to my friend Claire's place for a playdate. Mommy and I headed over there and I had a great time - Claire and I played with her play food (which "sticks together", I would excitedly remark) and her Barbie dolls. I The Ken doll was my favourite - I dressed him in an ivory cardigan, gray sweatpants, loafers, and no socks.

Claire and I went to school together, which was fine. I was kinda sad that I had to go home to MY place and not to Claire's - I was really hoping to play with her toy food again. Anyway, I got to have a snack once I got home, but that was it for me - I didn't really feel like eating anything for dinner or anything. I guess I'm still a little bit ill... it might explain why I'm still sleeping pretty lightly.

Frozencornasaurus

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Another restless night of bad dreams last night, so Mommy stayed with me the whole time (and Basil camped out in my room just in case anything interesting happened). I can't say any of us got enough rest.

Daddy worked from home today - it was nice to have him around, even if he ended up hogging the computer for, like, work and stuff. He did manage to drive me to school, where I had a pretty decent day. We learned about rainbows and stuff.

Mommy and I made a dinosaur outside in the little bit of snow that had fallen - we decorated it with frozen corn, which I ended up snacking on. I wasn't really into eating dinner... I was more into passing out on the couch while watching the Olympics. Hopefully, tonight I get better sleep.

Speed Skating Nightmares

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I kept waking up in the middle of the night with bad dreams (about Speed Skating?), so I ended up in bed with Mommy, and Daddy ended up on the couch, and Basil ended up everywhere. So none of us slept very well.

I had a pretty low-key day... I was kinda sniffly and somewhat ill. I went to school anyway, and it was okay - but afterwards I didn't wanna hang around and play in the playground, and decided to go over the Gammy's place to play with her instead.

Mommy and I watched some Olympics on TV, read some books, and then I played some video games on the computer. I passed out on the couch right before dinner, which I ended up eating hardly any of. Once again, I started having bad dreams in the middle of the night, so Mommy joined me in bed.

Home Without Stopping

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I had a nice morning with my parents this morning - we played with all of Eric's Lego on the living room floor at Aunt Diane's while watching the Olympics. Sweet! After lunch, however, my great mood soured as I REALLY didn't want to go - I was going to miss Aunt Diane so much! She's the best... she said I could come back, though, so... that kinda made it better.

I snoozed through part of the drive home to Toronto, and aside from requesting the odd song (I didn't like that Daddy kept listening to "Weather Reports and CBC News"), I kept fairly quiet. Believe it or not, we drove from Montreal to Toronto WITHOUT STOPPING, not even for gas or food or bathroom breaks. We've never managed that before!

I was happy to get home and to see Basil and my grandparents and stuff... I stayed up a little bit to watch some Olympics and have dinner, but was really exhausted. Considering how much talking and thrashing about I'm doing in my sleep, I hope I'm well-rested for tomorrow.

The Happy Skater

[As transcribed by Daddy on Feb 16th]

This afternoon, Eric and Lola came by and led Mommy and Daddy and Aunt Diane and I into downtown Montreal, where we parked next to Robin's apartment. With Robin and Brian and Nevi and Skye, we walked a few blocks over to this cool public skating rink - and I got to go skating for the first time!

The skates and helmet were free, which was awesome - and I bravely skated all over that rink, sometimes with Mommy, sometimes with Daddy - but mostly all by myself, using a nice little chair-thing in order to stand up and maintain my balance. My folks were so proud! I raced little Skye all over the ice - it was adorable. I loved it! By the end of the day, I was a better skater than Daddy. No exaggeration.

I went to Robin's house for hot chocolate and cookies with Nevi and Skye and Lola, and then we all headed back Eric and Elizabeth's for dinner. We devoured all the Indian takeout we got, plus all of the Indian food that Robin made for us. I played with Lola and Skye in the basement, put on a little show for everyone using Lola's toy microphone, and was exhausted by the end of the day, let me tell you. Props to Mommy for making Daddy some awesome Valentine's Day truffles for us all to eat.

The Happy Tobogganer

[As transcribed by Daddy on Feb 15th]

It was a pretty busy day today. I started off with some breakfast at Uncle Ed and Aunt Diane's, but when it was time for Mommy and Aunt Diane to go to the market, I went over to Eric and Elizabeth's house to play with Lola and Olivia and Ella. Daddy joined us there, and then it was time to go back to Ed & Diane's for lunch.

With Robin and Nevi and Skye in tow, a bunch of us drove of to a nice little park to do some tobogganing! Using some awesome old Russian-made orange toboggans (the same ones my Daddy and his cousins used when they were kids), we took several runs down an ice-covered hill. I was pretty freaked out after I did a really high and fast run with Mommy, so I pretty much just repeatedly stuck to a smaller, 'half-way' hill with Skye. Daddy actually went tobogganing for the first time since his toboggan-related head injury / concussion / memory loss incident from over a decade ago.

We stayed at Ed & Diane's for the rest of the day - I played with my cousins, ate dinner, watched Nevi play video games, and watched the Olympics on television! Now that I've gone tobogganing, I'm really looking forward to the bobsled.

The Great Canadian Poop-Off

[As transcribed by Daddy on Feb 15th]

I was happy to wake up and have a great morning here at Aunt Diane's place - after several helpings of breakfast, Elizabeth came over with Baby Ella (who sure seems to like Daddy) and joined us all for coffee before we all drove over to Lola's pre-school and picked her up. We were so happy to see each other!

Eric joined us for lunch at a really cool little restaurant - we all ate tons of food! Instead of going back to Aunt Diane's place, Elizabeth took me to her place, where I played and played with Lola and Olivia and stuff. Eventually we all made it back to Ed and Diane's, where we were joined for dinner by Robin, Brian, Nevi, Skye, and my new little cousin Willow! The overall mayhem level was kept to a minimum.

One of the funniest moments of the day came towards the end, where Skye and I had something of a "poop-off" - I sat on the big toilet, and she sat in front of me on her little potty and we had an enjoyable conversation while using the bathroom. So adorable.

I Like To Move It Move It

[As transcribed by Daddy on Feb 15th]

I wrote a letter to GG this morning, Mommy and I finished making my valentines over breakfast this morning, and then we did some reading before having lunch and going to school. While I was there, I passed out the awesome Valentine's Day cards that Mommy and I worked so hard on, and went to the gym, where we listened to the funny "I Like to Move it Move it" song.

After I got home, I visited my grandparents and then helped Mommy pack for our big trip to Montreal. We left about two hours later than we planned, but the trip itself was pretty good… I slept pretty much the whole way! Once we arrived, I was so happy to see Aunt Diane and Uncle Ed! They gave me some tea before I went to sleep… but I'm so excited to be here, I don't know that I will.

Listening to: Reel 2 Real - Move It!

World's Fastest Guacamole

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I had a nice morning together - by the time it was time for me to go to school, Mommy suddenly realized that she hadn't packed me a snack. So she flew into the kitchen, grabbed a huge avocado, and in under three minutes had whipped up a big batch of guacamole. Less than three minutes!!!

It snowed a lot today - something I like to do is to catch snowflakes on my tongue and tell Mommy what it tastes like. Today I caught a snowflake that tasted like turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes.

Mommy and I spent a good chunk of time today making these really amazing little valentines for me to give out to my friends at school. I'll be in Montreal for the special day (so if this blog isn't updated over the next few days it's because Daddy forgot his Flickr password while on the road), but we'll make sure I take the valentines to school tomorrow.

Basil and the housesitters will be occupying our place while we're gone... maybe we could get them to do the blog.

February Christmas Shopping

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I were up early today, and got some quality time in together - we read books, drew pictures and played with dolls and stuff. Pretty awesome. I went to school in the afternoon - we had gym class and got to go to the library and take books home, so that's awesome!

We're off to Montreal to visit all of the family in Quebec that we didn't get to see over the Christmas break (leaving Thursday evening), so we decided to go to the toy store and buy some 'February Christmas Presents' for my cousins. While I was there, I did a lot of playing and exploring, and might have even picked up a little something for myself.

After Daddy came home from work, he and I drew some pictures and then played Batman & Robin. I was allowed to drive the Batmobile today, which was fun.

Tonoodle

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I decided to take Basil and Cinnamon Bunny (whom I bundled up in doll clothing) for a nice walk around the block today, which we all felt like we really needed, what with us having been so cooped up over the past few days. We had some lunch, and then Mommy walked me to school, during which I invented what I'm calling "Alien Language":

Doodle n oodle ........ Hello
Doodle n addle ........ Goodbye
Doodle Odle ........ Happy Halloween
Tonoodle ........ I Love You a Bunch
Doodle n addle n urdle ........ Happy Valentine's Day
Woah Woah ........ Beard
Popera Addick-Boddick ........ Sandra Bullock

It was nice to be back at school - Mommy ran some errands while I was there and as such as too exhausted to pick me up, so Grandpa came and got me. I watched too much television when I got home, but did manage to do some reading and drawing with Mommy.

After Daddy got home from work, we all ate some really rare roast beef for dinner, and I kinda fought going to sleep for as long as possible.

Sickbowl Sunday

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Since my parents were both up late last night (Mommy was sick, Daddy was driving around buying Gravol), they slept in while I went and visited Gammy and Grandpa. They gave me a waffle.

Mommy managed to get up and help make me a lunch, but other than that she stayed in bed. When she wasn't in bed, she was asleep in the couch (which is still better than being sick in the bathroom). So - Daddy kept me pretty entertained during the day. We played video games, watched television, drew some pictures, took photos of Cinnamon Bunny, played with my dolls, ate snacks, and listened to music and stuff. It was pretty good! Daddy is so proud of my drawings and my imagination - you should see some of the cartoons I made today.

Hopefully I'm well enough to go back to school tomorrow (my appetite still isn't back to normal), seeing as how I've missed the last two days.

Mommy's Turn

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was up pretty early today, and whined and moaned at my parents until they either woke up, made me some breakfast, or let me use the computer. After more whining, moaning, complaining, crying, and drama, I eventually fell asleep with them.

Daddy continued to sleep in while Mommy and I finished out the morning. After lunch, Daddy drove us to the grocery store where we did the weekly shopping, and then down to the butcher, where we finished off the weekly shopping. Daddy and I had ice cream and played video games when we got back.

I barely touched my dinner - my appetite still isn't back, but at least there wasn't any vomiting. Not from me, at least - Mommy's pretty badly afflicted right now, and has been sick all evening.

Projectile Vomit Distance Champ 2010

[As transcribed by Daddy]

As you can see from today's blog title, I'm not exactly better yet. For the better pat of the day I had very little appetite and wasn't my normal self... I didn't nap as much as yesterday, but was still kinda tired and subdued. Needless to say, I didn't go to school... I read and played games with Mommy today.

She went to school on my behalf to pick up my homework... by the time she got home, I was waiting for her at the door, a little bit more excited and happy. My appetite came back, and all was great! We had Daddy pick up some pizza on the way home from work. I took one bite of pizza, and...

...first I threw up all over Mommy, and then as I ran to the bathroom, I projectile vomited across the house! The three of us couldn't help but laugh. I mean, it was gross and everything, but... the sheer distance! Goodness!

I watched an awesome movie with my folks before bed.

On the Couch

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Last night I kinda threw up on Cinnamon Bunny - he went into the wash, so I snuggled with Nandy Panda as a backup. I was sick all night long... Cinnamon Bunny came out of the wash, Nandy Panda was cast aside, and I don't think I really slept until about 3 in the morning or later. Same with Mommy.

I spent the entire day on the couch with more tummy problems and a slight fever. Obviously, I didn't go to school - you can tell I wasn't feeling myself, because I wasn't really hungry throughout the day and ate very little. Mommy and I read a lot of books together, we watched some television, and I napped during the afternoon.

The Nixons are staying with Gammy and Grandpa again, so I visited them a little bit, but for the most part I just stayed on the couch. Hopefully tomorrow I'm feeling better - and if this is a virus going around (Leo and Claire had the same big, it seems) my folks might be in for a 'Norovirus Suprirse'.

Revenge of the Turkey Burgey

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I kinda fought this morning, over how much television I was allowed to watch. I said some regrettable things which I immediately took back - I explained that I had just missed Mommy a lot while she was out last night (but not Daddy so much).

The day was okay - school was good and stuff. I helped Mommy prepare turkey burger patties for dinner - I really enjoyed pulverizing the heck out of them on the counter!

Daddy and I played some video games after he got back from work - we had dinner (the aforementioned 'turkey burgies") and then I went to bed... only to find myself being violently sick while I slept. Luckily Daddy heard me from the other room - he and Mommy cleaned me up (Cinnamon Bunny's in the wash) and tucked me in with them. I then proceeded to throw up all over their bed, too.

At least we all seem to have a pretty good sense of humour about it.

Six Thumbs Up

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I had a good day today - school was nice because we got to have gym class and we went to the library. However, I spent the better part of the day just excited to be having dinner with Gammy and Grandpa!

Once Daddy got home from work, he and Mommy went out for the evening... only to discover that one of their favourite restaurants is gone. You'll notice this keeps happening to all of our favourite stores.

Meanwhile, I got to have dinner with Gammy and Grandpa! It was so good it would be 'six thumbs up if I had three thumbs on each hand.'. Then Gammy and I pretended to be baboons, we had a snack, and Grandpa but me to bed as Gammy watched the same program my folks are watching over at Nik's house.

CLOVER EAT BREAKFAST

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I kept off of the computer today - I think that before the day ended I had only accrued ten minutes altogether of video games and stuff. Not bad! I spent some time other ways - playing, making a big fruit salad with Mommy, and stuff like that.

School was good (but I'm pretty jazzed about school tomorrow, when we go to the library and have gym class), and then I came home and took it easy with Mommy. I brought home a big mixed media piece I did where I glued bits of cereal to a piece of paper and drew myself eating it, captioned 'CLOVER EAT BREAKFAST'.

Daddy and I watched some television before I went to bed - Mommy had a bit of a happy existential moment when she saw the two of us sitting together on the couch. Sometimes it blows her mind that the little baby she brought home from the hospital not to long ago is now a pretty opinionated, creative, and amazing little person.

Couch Testing 2

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning, while Daddy slept, I built a furniture fort in his bedroom and had a grand old time, hooting and hollering and playing with my toys and stuff. He slept through it completely! Mommy was counting on it waking him up, in fact. No dice.

Once he woke up and we had our lunch (ask me how much I hate sauerkraut soup and I'll talk your ear off), we decided to head off for another Sunday of couch shopping. We hit up Vaughan Mills and checked out some stores out there, and then I persuaded my parents to take me to the mall for some bubble tea.

We went to Ikea next - I had a bit of a meltdown when I couldn't play with the toys there (I'm just too big), but whatever. We had a nice drive home, and an even nicer dinner - home made chicken nuggets and yam fries!

Mommy got a pretty bad headache when it was time for bed, so I read to her instead of the other way around.

I'm a happy kid living with my parents and our dog in Toronto. I'm goofy, sweet, smart, extremely chatty, and pretty much the cutest kid on the face of the Earth!
