Up-And-Down Sinuses

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and Julie went out for pedicures this morning, so it was just Daddy and I holding the fort. Unfortunately, I still have a sniffle, so Daddy was under strict instructions not to let me outside or take me anywhere. So... we stayed home. I watched some TV, played a lot of video games, and did some singing and dancing with Daddy. He fed me lunch, and then I threw him a tea party while he wasn't cleaning the house and doing copious amounts of laundry.

After Mommy came home, I ceased to be as pleasant as I was being for Daddy... but eventually the bunch of us went out to look for a DVD for Daddy at Best Buy (no luck). I was pretty sleepy. When we got back, Gammy and Grandpa had returned from their trip to You Nork!

We had some dinner, and played with my Lincoln Logs before bed. My sinuses were up-and-down all day, but right at the end there, they were pretty 'up'.

Frightening Puppet Show

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Ugg, I had another kinda rough night last night... perhaps it's the myriad of diseases and lord-knows-whats we all caught from the hospital (where we went to get cured from sickness), or perhaps its a version of the head-cold Robin or Nevi had, but I seem to have a sniffle.

Anyway, Mommy and Daddy and I had a somewhat quiet day - Mommy and Daddy cleaned, tidied, archived CDs, recycled and fixed up my room, while I watched some TV, played some games, and took 'er easy. In the afternoon, Daddy took me to the local library, where I had a play date with his partner Lisa's son, Leo - a cute, nice kid, if not somewhat quiet and younger than me. The library was okay... but I was tired and was having a hard time focusing. Daddy put on a puppet show that some kids loved and others found frightening.

I really wanted sushi for dinner. Luckily, Mommy saw things my way, and we went out and had a lovely Japanese dinner. On the way home we went to the toy store to buy some Lego - but couldn't find exactly what we wanted, so I got some Lincoln Logs instead (Daddy got a toy, too).

5 Hours in Emergency

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I had a kinda rough night last night - didn't sleep well, there was a whole lot of noise inside and outside, plus I had to pee a lot. I was in bed with my folks pretty early, which prompted them to get their act in gear and get out of bed and into the supermarket quickly.

After a quick visit with Aunt Wendy (whose clan inhabited Gammy and Grandpa's place while they're in You Nork), we went to the aforementioned supermarket through gale-force winds and brought back an enormous amount of food.

After lunch, I was a bit antsy and whiny - my parents got me to lie down for a few minutes, and before we knew it we had all had a lengthy nap. When I woke up, it was clear to everyone that I had a slight urinary tract infection (I don't need to paint you a picture). So, being a Sunday afternoon over the Christmas holidays, they had no choice but to pack a bunch of books and take me to the ridiculously busy emergency room at the local hospital.

All things considered, I was a good girl as we waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited for five hours before being discharged. We picked up my antibiotics on the way home... I was such a good girl that Mommy humored my request for a spaghetti dinner, despite the fact that it was after midnight.

Another Boring Drive

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Believe me when I say that I didn't want to leave Aunt Diane and Uncle Ed's place this morning - and was temporarily calmed down when we went right over to Eric & Elizabeth's house for a quick visit. However, I was once again dismayed to have to leave there, too...

...only to have to suffer through another six-hour car ride from icy Montreal, past slippery Cornwall, through rainy Kingston, and into foggy (and bizarrely warm) Toronto. We stopped here and there for junk food and bathroom breaks, and at one point I had enough of the music blasting in the car and had Daddy turn it off.

I was pretty happy to be home, of course, and very happy to have dinner, even if it disagreed with Daddy. I introduced my new Christmas toys to my old ones, and was happy to hear that Gammy and Grandpa successfully dropped Cool Uncle Gareth (and his artwork) home in You Nork.

Spinny-Chair Nap

[As transcribed by Daddy on December 28th]

A lot of the craziness of the past few days has worn off, and I'm a little... ...sad about it. I kinda liked all the presents and hooplah and attention. We were gonna go sledding (on the ice?) with Robin and her crew, but she's got a stomach bug - so I stayed home with everyone, and then went to the most boring mall in all of Montreal with my folks, Gammy, and Aunt Diane. I couldn't handle it, and got pretty upset about how dull it was. I came home, calmed down, got worked up again, calmed down, and then skated down the icy streets with everyone to Eric and Elizabeth's for dinner.

All I wanted to do, though, was go play in the playroom. I did for a while, then came back up, ate a few bites of food, and then literally passed out in Olivia's orange spinny-chair. It was pretty funny for Mommy to discover me in there after several minutes of silence.

She very carefully took me back to Ed + Diane's and put me in bed.

Christmas Mayhem

[As transcribed by Daddy on December 27th]

I was up at 7:15 a.m., ready to see what Santa brought me, and boy was I ever happy! My stocking was full of goodies (including the Eva toy I wanted) and as soon as everyone else woke up, we all had a nice Christmas morning. I opened my gifts, and was overjoyed by the bucketful of dinosaurs I asked for (see photo)!

After lunch, Nevi and Skye came over and we played, and then Eric and Olivia and Elizabeth and Lola joined us too, and the mayhem began! More presents were opened by us, and then all our parents had their annual gift exchange - Grandpa ended up with Mommy's pillows, Brian got Daddy's print, and Daddy got an Atlas while Mommy got a new cheese grater!

I played with Nevi and my cousins - Robin and I did some cool art projects (she made me a shirt with my photo on it!), and then we all had a really nice Christmas dinner. I went to bed quickly, but not before having some intestinal trouble and asking whether or not Santa was coming back again tonight...

With Nevi

[As transcribed by Daddy on December 27th]

Cousin Nevi and I were attached at the hip today! He slept over last night, so we got started pretty early - we trashed the living room first, before moving downstairs and demolishing everything there, too. We played and played and played! He wouldn't play 'Sleeping Beauty' and kiss me, though... he just wanted to play 'Star Wars'.

After lunch, an online chat with my faraway cousin Michele and a roll around in the snow in front of the house, Nevi's parents came to pick him up. I wasn't the only kid for long, though, because Eric and Elizabeth brought Olivia and Lola over to make things fun.

We all had a nice dinner and watched a DVD... I stayed up and waited for Cool Uncle Gareth to arrive from You Nork before going to bed. I was sure to fall asleep quickly, because Santa won't come if I'm awake!!!

Aunt [D]Iane's

[As transcribed by Daddy on December 27th]

I was up and at 'em pretty early this morning - couldn't wait to drive to Aunt [D]Iane's! Eventually we loaded all of our gear into the car (no room for Daddy's video game) and headed out. I stopped asking "Are we in Quebec yet?" after about an hour...

...but started again somewhere around hour six, when I was getting pretty cooped up and antsy (the hour spent in bumper-to-bumper traffic outside of Kingston didn't help). I didn't sleep at all during the drive!

Soon we arrived a... oh, wait - Clover wants to take over the writing of the blog. Here she is:

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Clover is adorable. Clover is flying on Santa's reindeer now. Clover likes to play games with Daddy and Mommy and Grabdpa and Gammy and Nevi and Robin and Brian and Eric and Elizabeth and Skye too. That's it.

Palpable

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I pretty much spent the entire day anticipating tomorrow, when we drive to Montreal. I'm so crazy for Christmas it's palpable... it's all I talk about, sing about, dance about, draw about, or think about! Throughout the day, I bounced like a pinball between Mommy (who was madly sewing toys, clothes, gifts, and baking pies, cookies, and meals) and Daddy (who was framing artwork, running errands, and measuring trunk space in Grandpa's car) and my grandparents (who were cooking, packing, gift-wrapping, and shoveling.

I danced with Daddy today, and we managed to play some board games, video games, and we played "Ice Cream Stand", "Milkshake Stand", and "Hot Dog Stand" (although I don't believe my folks when they tell me about 'Chip Trucks', which is the silliest thing I've ever heard of). I also helped Mommy do some baking, and I watched a fair amount of TV.

I'm so excited for tomorrow, I hope I can sleep through the night!

Sully

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Click here to download yesterday's 'interview' - Daddy edited out all of his parts, so it's just my stream-of-consciousness answers. I hope you enjoy it!

I was a really good girl this morning - Nee-Nee asked if we could have a mini Christmas before she heads off to Muskoka, so we opened her presents and stuff. We all got some great stuff - I got some cool books, and we also opened the present my parents bought me on papa's behalf - the huge Sully toy I wanted! I was so happy!

After lunch, Daddy and I took a walk over to the toy store to look for a present for Mommy. We ruled out scary action figures from the comic book store next-door, and I carefully picked out something else I thought she'd like. Daddy and I sang Christmas carols on the walk home.

I spent the late afternoon with Gammy and Grandpa as my folks did some last-minute grocery shopping, and when they came home we all watched Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer on TV. I had a long bath, and then it was off to bed with my new Sully toy!

It's a Trap!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was up pretty early this morning, and had a hard time calming down and lying still when I hopped into bed with my parents. There were many arguments and a lot of 'moan-crying'.

To keep me entertained, Daddy tried to get me to record a new song on the computer, but it somehow got turned into a really wacky "Christmas Interview", which we'll try to post online at some point soon. It's pretty funny.

We did the grocery shopping and managed to literally plow through the snow and traffic. It took quote a while - I napped in the car on the way home. I watched some TV at home, played some video games, and then set a crazy trap for Daddy. While he was in the bathroom, I turned off all the lights in the house and left my toy baby stoller outside the bathroom door. When he came out and crashed blindly into the stroller, it took him about ten minutes to finish falling. He eventually landed in the kitchen, and had to make dinner in pain and agony (insert Daddy's dinner / pain & agony joke here).

Snowstorm!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was up early this morning, and paid another visit to my Grandparents first thing - without asking first. My parents really need to work on that, but we all know it won't be easy. Also, since cutting out sugar the other day, my rashes have almost completely vanished. Isn't that crazy?! How am I gonna get some sugar?! I love sugar!

So, today consisted basically of a huge snowstorm. A really cold, huge, and blustery one. At one point, Mommy and Daddy tried to take me out for lunch, but I started crying and whining from the snow in my face, so we gave up and went home (which also made me cry and whine). I played Daddy's video game with him, and we played with my toys and some board games and stuff while Mommy stayed in her room and did some Christmas sewing.

Later in the day, Mommy and Daddy decided the storm had subsided enough for a car ride over to Harvey's for a cheeseburger. I barely ate mine, but enjoyed getting out of the house in any case.

Blueberry's Seventh Birthday

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up this morning to discover that Mommy had been snoozing with me for most of the night. As a result, she wasn't exactly well-rested - I'm known for thrashing about quite a lot in the night. After spending a good chunk of the morning with my Grandparents, I watched some cool cartoons while Mommy dozed on the couch.

After lunch, I drew some really amazing pictures of Basil and Santa and stuff (with some coaching from Mommy) and then I put on a puppet show for Mommy - a puppet show about my stuffed crocodile Blueberry and his seventh birthday party. After that, I did dinosaur impressions and had Mommy and my other toys try to guess them.

After Daddy came home from work with a box full of his new end-of-year CD and a huge new video game, we ate carrots together and played doctor to my toys. For once, I kinda let Mommy join in.

Growling at James

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I have no idea why, but for some reason I was up really early this morning, and decided I'd drop in on my grandparents while my folks slept. Wasn't that nice of me? Hopefully they weren't too annoyed. I can't help it - hanging out with them is awesome!

After Mommy was up, we went over to Julie & Sarah's house. We had a really fantastic visit - Mommy and Julie got to spend some quality time together, meanwhile I kinda spent most of my time with James, who I kinda growled at a few times. I have a hard time understanding that because he's half my age, sometimes he doesn't do what I want.

We came home in the mid-afternoon (after a lovely lunch) - Mommy headed out to get some of Daddy's artwork framed for Christmas presents, while I watched DVDs and hung out with Gammy. By this point I was getting pretty exhausted... believe it or not, I ended up not eating any dinner. I wasn't hungry, and just wanted to sleep. Crazy!

Dropping Trou

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Today Mommy and I both had doctor's appointments. The two of us headed downtown, and instead of having to wait for an hour in the waiting room as usual, we... ...went right in?! What the... I 'dropped trou' and had the rash on my backside looked at - perhaps we shall be seeing a naturopath in the new year! The doctor also suggested that I might want to lay off the sugar temporarily.

WHAT.

Mommy and I had a quiet afternoon - I spent an abnormally long amount of time visiting my Grandparents and Nee-Nee. Mommy made a whole whackload of cookies and goodies, and I heped her make three pizzas, which we shared for dinner with my aforementioned Grandparents and Nee-Nee (and Daddy).

Someone must have slipped something into the pizza, because immediately after dinner, Mommy and Daddy and I all fell asleep simultaneously.

The Vacuum of Space

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Today, the weather turned on us - it's completely inhospitable to human life out there. Lots of wind in every direction, and that wind is cold. Basically the vacuum of space, just with more stuff blowing around.

Needless to say, Mommy and I hung out at home today - we had a fairly quiet one, just staying inside and warm and safe and content. I joined Mommy in her sewing room and played with my toys, and all was calm - late in the day, however, I had a quick meltdown on Mommy when she punished me for not sharing the computer with her by forbidding me from watching television or playing video games.

When Daddy came home from work, we drew pictures of dinosaurs together and did some dancing. I'm a really good dancer - I especially love to spin around and crash into the Christmas Tree.

The Uneaten Sushi Pizza

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I crawled into bed with my folks last night, and was upset about something or other - in an attempt to calm me down, Daddy told me the story of the Wizard of Oz. However, as he started to fall asleep, it turned into the story of The Wizard of Oz meets John Connor and the Terminators.

Daddy and I hung out this morning as Mommy slept in a bit - we watched cartoons. Once she was up, we went out for a sushi lunch - but for the first time in ages, I wasn't very hungry and didn't eat much. After a quick stop home, we drove out to Markham and bought some frames at the craft store for Daddy's Christmas presents. Next, we went to Chapters, where I had a bit of a meltdown (I'd been kinda naughty all day), which caused us to leave before my folks could get coffee.

I was much better behaved at home - Daddy and I played Doctor to my stuffed animals before dinner, and we watched cooking shows before bed. I was out like a light - dreaming of the Wizard of Oz, no doubt.

Gingerbread House

[As transcribed by Daddy]

As soon as I woke up this morning, I was all about decorating that gingerbread house! My Daddy was pretty astonished that I was reluctant to actually eat the decorative candy - I knew that it was for gingerbread-encrusting purposes only. Look at the great photo Grandpa took of the house... it's pretty awesome. There's not a single millimetre of gingerbread visible on that thing.

Daddy and I watched some motorcycles do tricks on TV at lunch, and then we went to the video game store to reserve a video game before driving out to the zoo! We haven't been there in months and months. Most of the animals I specifically asked to see (the octopus, the orangutans, the tapir, and the meerkats) were off-exhibit, but we got to see the new Great Barrier Reef thing and we got to smell the sloth. We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves.

I snoozed in the car on the way home - once we got back, I watched some cartoons, had some dinner, watched more cartoons, and fought against going to sleep.

The Lost Mitten Effect

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I were gonna go visit Julie & Sarah this morning, but apparently their cat needed to go to the vet, so we took a raincheck and hung out at home instead. We decided to make a gingerbread house - together, Mommy and I baked the cookie parts, but needed candy to decorate it with. Unfortunately, we couldn't find one of my mittens, so a trip to the store came into question.

After lunch, I asked Grandpa to drive us to the store - he asked me to wait a few minutes, and for one reason or another, I really got upset, and then worked myself up into something of a frantic tantrum. Mommy had me lie down for a nap - roughly 90 minutes later, I was up and HUNGRY.

Daddy was home from work a little bit late, but it was okay - I watched a movie and Mommy made the world's most amazing lentil soup ever. Once it was time for bed, I could not calm down and snooze. My parents are hoping I'll sleep in a bit tomorrow (fat chance of that, though).

Might I have this Dance?

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy was quietly working away at her sewing when I walked into the room covered from head-to-toe in Raisin Bran and told her I needed to 'wash my hands'. Mommy got upset with me - I told her that I was disappointed in her reaction. Later in the evening, she would kinda feel bad and apologized to me for getting mad - I replied by telling her that I also felt sorry, for getting so mad at Cinnamon Bunny.

Other that that, we had a quiet and calm day. I taught Grandpa how to properly pronounce the names of several dinosaurs, and when Daddy came home from work, I made up this game where I pretended to be a nervous girl at a dance - I'd walk up to Daddy and ask him to dance with me (and then we'd dance). Then, we'd switch roles - he'd have to ask ME to dance.

We played videogames before bed... I had a blast.

Satisfactory Pterosaur

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Daddy took Mommy and I out to dinner before we went grocery shopping, but enough about that. Earlier in the day, I decided that I wanted Grandpa to draw me a picture of a Pterosaur. I brought him some paper and a pen and asked him for the artwork, and what he gave me, was, well... lt's just say that I was a little bit less than satisfied.

So, I tracked down Mommy, and asked her to draw a Pterosaur for me. Her picture wasn't much better, which I have to say was kinda disappointing. With a sigh, I asked Gammy to draw one, and hers was MUCH better - despite the fact that it looked identical to Mommy's. Therefore, on second consideration, I decided that Mommy's was all right, too.

Not Grandpa's though.

Egg Argument

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning I asked Mommy or breakfast. She suggested I have eggs - I told her that eggs was a lunch food, and not a breakfast food. She informed me that if I went to a restaurant and asked for breakfast, I'd be given eggs. I screamed "THEY DON'T HAVE EGGS AT THE SUSHI RESTAURANT!!!" and with that, Mommy decided that maybe we wouldn't go to Julie & Sarah's house this morning after all.

I had a relatively sane afternoon - Mommy and I watched some TV, played some video games, read a lot of books, and we strung together some sour cranberries to make a wreath for our door (well, the cranberries that didn't end up in my tummy ended up on the wreath).

After Daddy came home from work, we had dinner (eggs!) and then took a quick trip to Best Buy and Starbucks, where I ate one of their new polar bear cookies and got icing all over myself.

Christmas Dinosaur

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning, Mommy and I decided to finish decorating the tree. While I focused my attention on one, small branch - covering it with ornaments, jingle bells, knick-knacks and toys, Mommy helped me choose what should go up on th every top of the tree. We eventually decided on a dinosaur - the Brachiosaurus, to be specific.

After Mommy and Gammy went out on a quick errand to buy kibble for Basil, I hung out with Grandpa. When Mommy came home, we had a relatively quiet afternoon while Basil enjoyed his long-awaited kibble.

I was happy to have Daddy home at the end of the day, so that we could play video games and stuff. He found it remarkable that I got so excited when "Little Town of Bethlehem" came on over the Christmas-themed radio station (because nobody likes that song), but when it turned out I was talking about 'White Christmas" it was somehow less noteworthy to him.

You Put Your Left Elbow In...

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Cool Uncle Gareth visited this morning - he told us about his fancy dinner last night, put me upside-down, and then left. Daddy woke up just after lunch, and drove Mommy and I downtown so that we could go to the Christmas Party for Kids that Leslie's company threw (thanks for the invite, Leslie!). It was quite the blast - it was so big, it put Daddy's company's Christmas Party to shame. We ate lots of food, made some crafts, saw a weird magic show, got presents, and best of all - I danced and danced and danced! I danced so well that I got a prize for my awesome version of the hokey pokey.

Daddy took me home while Mommy hung out with Leslie - at one point, he saved me from falling down a flight of stairs in the parking garage. I came home and was pretty full of beans - he and I had a nice tea party, and then I ran circles around my grandparents as Daddy picked Nee-Nee up from the subway.

Once he got back, I joined him as we went right back to the subway to pick up Mommy, and then we got some dinner from subway (er, the restaurant, not the transit system). What a busy day!

Trimming the Tree / Peeing the Pants

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Eventually I got my parents out of bed - neither of them slept well, especially not Daddy, who is struggling with employment decisions again. Yay! He moped around while Mommy and I took care of regular Saturday fare. Cool Uncle Gareth came over and played with me, and after lunch Daddy had a light but much-needed nap, and was more of himself after he woke up.

I drew some amazing pictures today. First, I drew a picture of Batman that you've absolutely gotta see to believe. Later, I drew a great picture of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer that will likely end up as our Christmas Card.

Mommy and Daddy and I went to the mall to pick up some books more Mommy, and I peed all over myself in the restroom. After getting a change of clothes (and enjoying Daddy doing half-donuts on the black ice in the streets), Grandpa joined us on a trip to Home Depot to pick up a new Christmas Tree. Even though my parents told me not to, I decided to decorate it all by myself.

Art Attack

[As transcribed by Daddy]

What a busy day. Daddy ran a few errands while Mommy and I had something of a quiet morning together. As soon as he got home, we picked up Gammy and drove to the One of a Kind Show with tickets from Leslie (Thanks, Leslie!).

We all enjoyed it more than we thought we would - I was happier drinking lemonade and destroying Daddy's back while sitting on his shoulders than I was walking around. We saw some neat stuff, bought some presents for the family in Montreal, and some spring rolls, too.

After we came home (slogging through Friday night downtown traffic), we had some dinner and headed back out - this time to Oakville to see Cool Uncle Gareth's big new gallery exhibition. It was PACKED (we got to see Hubert, which was awesome) and kinda hot, not to mention that I was up hours and hours past my bedtime. We didn't stay long, as I was kinda climbing the walls. But wow - what a huge turnout (and that was just the parking lot). Cool Uncle Gareth did find the time to humour me and hold me upside-down. He's great!

Lego Batman

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I spent the better part of the morning letting my Dad sleep in - why bother him when I've got Cool Uncle Gareth to play with?! Awesome! He and I had a great time this morning, playing with my toys and stuff. Eventually Daddy managed to wake up - he had to bail on lunch and drive downtown to run some errands and drop Cool Uncle Gareth off, but once he came back and had a sandwich, the two of us spent a lot of much-needed quality time together while Mommy had a really really really long nap.

Daddy and I read some comics together, played some video games (like Lego Batman), built stuff out of Lego, and drew a bunch of pictures of cool superheroes like ...Lego Batman (we also drew regular Batman, too). He made me a snack and the two of us watched some cool TV shows and even put on a play. Pretty fun!

Daddy had to head out to his company Christmas party next, so I didn't see him for the rest of the evening. I spent some time with my grandparents before having a quiet lunch with Mom, and then we made some peppermint ice cream.

Hob-Nobbing

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Despite being up so late last night and not getting much sleep, I sure was up early. Despite being on vacation, Daddy was out this morning at a gala breakfast event for work, where he hob-nobbed with celebrities. I hob-nobbed with Mommy.

Daddy got home before eleven, and the two of us played with toys and even got in some video games. With Mommy in tow, we did a lot of grocery shopping - but we were all walking around like exhausted zombies. Once we got home and had some lunch, Mommy and Daddy napped while I watched my Rudolph DVD twice with Gammy and Grandpa.

My dismay at not having a computer to play video games was abated when the Apple people called and told us it was fixed, so we drove out to the mall and picked it up. While we were there, I got some new clothes, and we even managed to sneak in a trip to the bookstore.

When I got home, cool Uncle Gareth was waiting for me! What a fantastic turn of events!

Home Again Home Again

[As transcribed by Daddy on Dec 4th]

Mommy and I did a lot of packing today - it was our last day in South Carolina. We went to Krispy Kreme for breakfast - somehow, I left that place covered from head-to-toe in frosting. When I told Papa that we had to go because "I needed to pee", he asked me if I could hold it. I told him "I'll hold it for as long as I can!" and he laughed uproariously.

We stopped by Mrs. Richardson's one last time, and I played with her toys and ornaments and stuff, and then we dropped some stuff off at Uncle Russel and Aunt Margaret's place (I didn't want to leave - I enjoyed playing on their jungle gym-thing).

We headed home and hung out by the river behind Papa's yard... I collected acorns and stuff. It was a nice afternoon! Papa took us over to Charleston, where we briefly ate some KFC and then bid a very sad good-bye to Papa, who we really enjoyed spending time with.

The plane rides home were uneventful - I ate pork rinds and smiled at a little baby. I was a little antsy for the flight from Charlotte to Buffalo, but both Mommy and I were super happy to see Daddy, who was there waiting for us!

The drive home to Toronto was kinda long - and it was already really late. We stopped for awful junk food on the way home - I passed out on the drive home in the middle of eating a cheeseburger. I was more than happy so sleep in my own bed again!

Jack Skeleteon the Rabbit

[As transcribed by Daddy on Dec 4th]

Have I mentioned how much I hate having a shower here at Papa's place?! The water stinks, and the shower has a big prison-style sliding door on it. No thank-you.

Today Mommy and Papa and I went over to visit Papa's friend Deena, who owns several horses - three big, one small. The big ones were a little intimidating (I wouldn't get on 'em), and the little one, which I DID want to ride, was too small.

The weather was finally agreeable, so we went out to pick some pecans - we had several buckets' worth when I announced to everyone "I need to poop!" and we had to hurry back to Papa's. Once there, I named his new black rabbit "Jack Skeleton" and joined everyone at Brenda's for a nice taco dinner (my idea).

At one point today, while visiting Uncle Laurie and Aunt Gladys at the nearby store, I must've put twenty dollars worth of quarters into a vending machine in hopes of getting a cool toy. All I ended up with were plastic bracelets I didn't want.

Cacophony of Peeps

[As transcribed by Daddy on Dec. 4th]

I didn't sleep well last night. Why? Because I share my bedroom with an incubator. In the middle of the night, all the baby chicks started hatching en masse. The cacophony of peeps made sleeping impossible. Needless to say, I was kinda cranky.

Today Mommy and Papa and I drove over to pick up my great-grandmother, who I can officially report is very very very old. I was a little slow in warming up to her, but I wasn't too terribly shy. Just to be on the safe side, though, I hid in my cowboy hat. We took her over to Mrs. Richardson's place - she made us dinner, and I absolutely loved it!

Mommy actually sat down and finished a book for the first time in ages. Just like old times! I wore my glow-in-the-dark jammies to bed, and had a hard time settling down, because I insisted that the jammies were glowing just for Mommy.

I'm a happy kid living with my parents and our dog in Toronto. I'm goofy, sweet, smart, extremely chatty, and pretty much the cutest kid on the face of the Earth!
