Tink Pink

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Um... Mommy and I both neglected to mention to Daddy the time I kinda fell partway down the stairs outside yesterday. So... yeah. I'm okay, though, no worries.

Today was much better, and featured 100% less falling-down-the-stairs. Mommy and I took a trip over to Home Depot to pick up a few odds and ends - I picked out the paint swatch 'Tink Pink', and then we headed home and painted my bedroom door 'Tink Pink'! Mommy also finally attached the swing we got at Ikea (on behalf of Nada) to the underside of the deck... I swing on that thing over and over again. Cinnamon Bunny took a turn, but then I kicked him off so that I could swing some more.

I had a bit of a meltdown today after being unable to properly put a pair of pants on. But who hasn't been there at one time or another? Am I right, people?

Not-Working-Late Cobbler

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Yeah yeah, I know, Daddy's behind on the blog redesign. He'll get to it as soon as he's caught up on his sleep. The good news is that he didn't have any photoshoots today or client presentations tomorrow to prepare for, so... he came hme at a normal time today. To celebrate, Mommy and I made him a special cobbler - "Not-Working-Late Cobbler".

I was re-introduced to my new doll Annabell today - Mommy spontaneously gave her a funny, spunky personality with an excited and gravelly voice. She ended up regretting it, because I liked it to much I spent the better part of the afternoon running after Mommy, trying to get her to do the voice.

After Daddy came home, he discovered that Cinnamon Bunny (whom I've always projected a nervous personality onto) has a small crush on Annabell, but he's too shy to talk to her, so I had to be the intermediary and deliver messages to her and stuff. It's very cute.

Picky Picking

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Grandpa drove Mommy and I to the farmer's market this morning - we picked up some fruits and veggies, and then hit the drug store on the way back to pick up some soy milk. At lunch I ate a nice concoction of noodles and peas and mushrooms, but for some reason I decided I didn't like the mushrooms and picked them out! What's with me becoming so picky all of a sudden?! I used to eat EVERYTHING!

In the afternoon, I decided to play 'shopping' in the back yard. Cinnamon Bunny things shopping is boring, so I had Mommy babysit him.

Daddy was out at two more photo shoots today, so... he didn't come home until after midnight. A package arrived for him in the mail, though, so I left it on his pillow for him.

End of the Garbage Strike

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was up early and went over to Gammy's house to watch cartoons before coming back home to wake up my parents. Daddy was off to a photoshoot for work - Mommy and I spent a good chunk of the day having fun AWAY from the computer or television. We played board games, did a whole bunch of dinosaur-related crafts, and then I played for ages and ages in my room by myself.

Daddy came home from work a little bit early and had a nap (he's had very little sleep over the past few nights) before heading out for another photoshoot before dinner! I have to say, I was really annoyed that he, like, went to work TWICE in one day.

In other news, it sounds like the citywide garbage strike is ending within the week. That's good. maybe my planned summer camp will become a reality after all! And it won't smell bad outside!

Picnic & BBQ

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was up early to watch the big F1 race with Gammy and Grandpa, but got sent home because I was being too fidgety. We were hit with a pretty big thunderstorm soon afterwards, which ended up moving the big company picnic Gammy arranged to be held in our back yard over to her place.

Tons of people showed up, all of whom brought some food! I got to meet some kids... at first I had an awesome time playing with them all, but after my easel got kinda wrecked and some of the kids kept harassing me to take them to my room in my place, I started getting a little stressed out and emotional. Mommy brought me home, where I calmed down.

Later on in the afternoon, we went over to Lisa and Leo's house - Matt cooked us up a delicious dinner on the BBQ, and I got to play with Leo's toy cars and stuff. We had a nice visit, and I got to show off the cool jammies Mommy made for CInnamon Bunny!

TV Star

[As transcribed by Daddy]

What a day! Kristin and her television crew arrived just before lunch, and Daddy doesn't think he's ever seen such a large team set-up, shoot, and then take-down as fast or as professionally. They were amazing! And you know what? So was I! I was funny and interesting, and recorded all of my parts for this new kids' television pilot really well. I played with my dinosaurs and had a great time. My folks were really proud of me, and really impressed with the great job Kristin and her team did. You can tell they've all worked with kids before!

After lunch, Mommy and Daddy decided to take me out for a drive in the rain to Ikea, where we bought some odds and ends - including a backyard swing (an awesome birthday gift from Nana). Next we drove over to the nearest Red Lobster, where my folks decided to buy me a whole Lobster to eat! It was pretty good, I think.

As if we hadn't needlessly spent enough money, my folks (who must've felt like big-shot parents of a TV star or something) decided to go spend more money they don't have at the mall Daddy helped do the branding and advertising for. Mommy got a new dress, and Daddy got art books.

What a day! We did so much, it felt like it lasted for a week.

Medical Conspiracy

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I had a decent day today - I got to hang out with Cool Uncle Gareth for a bit before he headed back to You Nork, and I played in my room and stuff. After a nice breakfast, Mommy and I headed out to the Doctor's office. I was anticipating a nice and easy checkup, but my parents and the medical industry had obviously been conspiring against me!

At the end of my checkup, out came a big scary needle that nobody bothered to mention to me! I panicked for about twelve seconds and screamed and cried - but then Dr. Vaezi injected me and before I knew it, it was all over. Once I left the Doctor's Office and passed the people in the waiting room, they all smiled and laughed at me as I mentioned "That wasn't so bad after all!" with tears streaming down my face.

Mommy made chili for dinner - before even knowing what it was, I told her I didn't like it. Then she fed some to me, and I realized that I LOVED it. Daddy came home from work right when I was going to bed, so I'm glad I got to see him before I fell asleep.

Becoming Picky

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Daddy left for work before I woke up again! Argh! Luckily he didn't stay too late, and I got to play with him when he came home ... even if he kept falling asleep.

I had a good morning, and visited with Cool Uncle Gareth for a bit. Yesterday I made an awesome picture frame out of Tinkertoys, so I put a drawing it it and had everyone admire my work. Grandpa drove Mommy and I out to the grocery store, which was kinda fun. I liked that... it made up for the fact that we didn't get to go to the mall. I found a box of Rice Krispies with dinosaurs on the box.

Mommy and I played board games, but I got kinda mad when I lost, and took it out on the meals we had today - suddenly I'm becoming very picky. At lunch I didn't like the chicken wings that I enjoyed the other day, and hardly touched my dinner. This is weird, because I've always been such an easy-going eater.

Walking like a Ghost

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Kinda quiet today. Daddy left for work really early - he thought I looked like a ghost, sleepwalking through the apartment in the morning.

I practiced setting up a dinosaur scene in my bedroom in anticipation of the TV pilot I'm shooting this weekend with Kristin. Other than that, Mommy and I played some games, watched some television, and I visited with Gammy and Grandpa.

I saw Cool Uncle Gareth for something like tow minutes today - he was passing through on his way to care care of business.

I devoured my hamburger at dinner - I had a nice bath before bed, but was sad when Daddy didn't come home from work until after I went to sleep... I was totally gonna play toys with him.

The problem with writing a blog entry almost a whole day late is that it's hard for Mommy to tell Daddy about what happened such a long time ago!

Remembership Bracelet

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up kinda early and had breakfast at Gammy's - we ate tea and waffles. Then it was back home so that I could have my second breakfast... then Mommy and I took the bus over to the local farmer's market. I found a man there who was giving out free fruit samples... I assumed that was a market-wide policy, so I went from vendor to vendor asking for free samples. Every single one of them was happy to oblige! We bought some really expensive (but delicious) blueberries.

Cool Uncle Gareth arrived from New York, which is awesome - he got me a really cool toy ATV for my birthday, which I played with a whole heck of a lot.

Before Daddy left for work in the morning, I gave him a bracelet "for remembership" - so that he would remember "all the good times we had". Once he got home from work, we played in my room, and then after dinner I watched TV with him and Uncle Gareth.

Harry Potter and the Skuttleclod of Bad Mitten

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I had another quiet day today. I played with a while bunch of my toys and stuff, meanwhile Mommy decided she was gonna catch up on her Harry Potter movies. I wasn't really into it - I told her that they had too many scary Dementors in them. She paused the one she was watching in the middle so that I could watch my regular lunchtime TV shows, and then resumed afterwards.

After Daddy came home from work, we all had delicious quesadillas for dinner, and then decided to play 'bad mitten' together outside (probably a little bit too soon after eating the quesadillas, actually). We had a lot of fun - as did Basil, who really took to chasing after the shuttlecock ("Skuttleclod"). We all kinda ran through the sprinkler in the backyard, cooled off, and went to bed.

Mommy and Daddy secretly went to another Harry Potter movie while I was asleep.

July's Day of Fooling Day

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning was quiet and relaxing - I played with my new toys and drew pictures and stuff while my folks recuperated from a busy past few weeks of birthday parties, cooking, website design, client presentations, and various trips to the States.

Once we got some lunch into us, Mommy and Daddy and Basil and I went for a nice relaxing Sunday drive out through the middle of nowhere. I fell asleep on the way, so they took advantage of that and kept on going through some lovely rolling countryside, and then woke me up to go hiking through York Regional Forest. We had one of the best non-rigorous hikes - we walked and told each other tall tales in a new holiday I named "July's Day of Fooling Day."

Once we got home and had some dinner, I got to stay up with Daddy and watch a cool program on television about outer space. I asked what 'Aliens' means, and he told me it referred to 'creatures from another planet.' I replied "Oh - you mean places like Mars or Germany."

Four Years Old!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Well, it happened - I turned four. Luckily, it doesn't feel that much different from the experience of being three for a year. So, with that out of the way, I had a fantastic day! I started with presents from Mommy and Daddy in the morning (Playmobil stuff, books, and an awesome new doll named Annabell), and some phone calls from Nana, Papa, and Cool Uncle Gareth.

People started arriving for my party at around eleven... Gammy and Grandpa first, followed by Julie and Steve and Sarah and James, and then Kristin and Jim and Renee, and then Lisa and Matt and Leo! All my friends! It was great! There were more presents (including a special 40,000,000-year-old fossil from Kristin) and LOADS OF FOOD from Mommy. She made me a cool pink dinosaur cake, ice cream, there was a sushi platter, and Basil even got to sneak a huge plateful of James' macaroni and cheese! We played fun games (see photo) and had a blast... it was most definitely the best birthday I've ever had.

When Lisa and Leo and Julie and Sarah and Steve and James left I started getting sad - luckily Kristin and Renee and Jim and I played with my toys in my room and stuff. I made up a graveyard game, where some of my toys had a funeral (Cinnamon Bunny stood in for Michael Jackson). Ferny the parasaurolophus presided over the proceedings... it was a lovely ceremony (and hilarious to Daddy). After a quick game of Rock Band, the last of the guests left my party, and I played with all my new loot.

Mommy crashed in the afternoon - Daddy and I played 'bad mitten' outside and did lots of drawing together - I helped him get started on this year's new blog design! We had leftovers for dinner, more presents from Nee-Nee, and I guarantee that we will all sleep really well tonight.

Phew!

POT ROAST IV

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was pretty good today - I helped Mommy cook loads and loads of food (you'd think we're having, like, fifty people over tomorrow and not, like, fifteen) and played quietly by myself. I was extra careful not to demolish my room and undo all of the cleaning and tidying Mommy and I have done over the past few days. Vanilla ice cream, blueberry ice cream, peanut butter and jelly ice cream, mac and cheese, six pounds of chicken wings, lemonade, cake, cookies... can't wait!

Mommy and I walked up to the drug store in the afternoon and bought a bunch of balloons - I played in a indoor playground on the way home. When we got home, one of the balloons popped. It was sad. Mommy and I played video games, and then Mommy made the annual Pot Roast, commemorating the time she cooked a pot roast while in labour.

I got several pairs of panties in the mail from Nana today! At first I was mad because they didn't have dinosaurs on them, but I got over it.

I'm nervous about being four years old, or so I confided to Daddy. He assured me it was a lot like being three, only there's kindergarten.

Requiem for a 3-Year-Old

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning Mommy asked me to clean my room - after putting up quite a fuss, I did a pretty pathetic job... I just kinda stuffed everything I could find under the bed, behind the bed, and in any other available nook or cranny. Mommy was pretty annoyed by this and ended up doing it herself... and as she did I whined and complained. She was so upset that she almost canceled my party on Saturday!

Anyway, after lunch the two of us walked over to the toy store to spend the money Aunt Marion sent me for my birthday. I had a REALLY hard time choosing something, but finally settled on some Playmobil stuff (not a dinosaur!). After Daddy came home from work, he and Mommy had to covertly scope out some other birthday presents... so I went over to Gammy's and (1) helped her make dinner and then (2) helped her eat dinner.

After my folks came home (only to find me showing off my toys to Gammy and Grandpa and Nee-Nee in my room), I joined them for a second dinner, snuggled and played with Daddy, and got kinda sad at bedtime - because tomorrow's the last time I'll ever be a three year-old.

A Fishy Day

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Today I really really really wanted Mommy to play with me - and she kinda did, but for the most part she had lot of tidying and housekeeping to take care of, so I was kinda out of luck. I wasn't even really allowed to watch TV or use the computer, so I felt a little shafted, actually. I played and stuff, but ended up being pretty whiny and sad. I called Papa on the phone to wish him a happy birthday, and I did a lot of colouring.

For lunch I ate a mountain-sized tuna salad sandwich, and then I ate tons more tuna salad for a snack. At dinnertime, Mommy made Daddy and I some catfish - so it was a pretty fishy day! We all played restaurant, cuddled and jumped on the bed, and Mommy posted a bunch of my drawings around the house and stuff!

Beets.

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was kinda annoyed with Mommy this morning - I had things to do, but she was sick and unavailable to, like, play with me and stuff. I went over to Gammy's place and hung out with her instead - Gammy even fed me lunch.

Once Mommy was feeling up to it, we went to the local farmer's market (you should have seen the disgusted look on my face when she bought beets) and then to the organic grocer's, where I told my life story to anyone who would listen, and where Mommy and I picked up a bunch of party favours for this weekend.

After we came home, Mommy made several small sample birthday cakes for her and I plus Daddy and my grandparents to test out (I think the sweet potato version has won). Finally, after finishing some of the best television they had ever watched, my parents got me out of bed to go and sleep with them, for some reason.

Naked in front of the Television

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Daddy left for work before I woke up today because he had a big creative presentation to his clients... yesterday, I told him that I was also gonna make a big creative presentation (to Nandy Panda), but I never got around to it. Maybe now Nandy Panda will fire me.

Mommy and I spent a good chunk of time outside - she gardened, and I played in the sprinkler. After I got kinda cold, I went back inside to watch television... Mommy came in a few minutes later only to find me naked on the couch watching kid's shows. She asked me to put some clothes on, so I found a shirt and wore just that.

Anyway, Mommy and I got so caught up looking at photos of my past birthday parties on the computer that we left dinner on the stove too long... so Daddy came home to burned chicken (which he still thought was pretty good). He and I played 'Pirate Bad Mitten' and watched Wheel of Fortune.

Bad Mitten

[As transcribed by Daddy]

After a lovely breakfast of sorghum and buckwheat pancakes, Mommy and Daddy and I played a fun game of "badmitten" in the backyard... what a blast! We followed that up with some lunch of leftovers, and then we drove out west past Milton and found a Bruce sidetrail that we hadn't hiked before. All was going well until I had to pee, and I accidentally peed all over my pants. Not IN them, but ON them. It's hard to explain. Anyway.

Despite Mommy spraying Daddy in the eye with insect repellent, we had a nice drive home, avoiding the traffic and insanity of the Hondo Indy in town. Daddy fell asleep on the couch again, and I played while Mommy made us a delicious dinner - that's three whole meals on the patio table. I think that's the first time this year we've done that.

I had an awesome bath, and got to eat a green bean from Gammy's garden before bed. I'm most likely gonna have tons of dreams about my upcoming birthday, which I'm pretty jazzed about. Cinnamon Bunny's birthday is around the same time, apparently.

Rock Time

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning, after a nice breakfast, Mommy and Daddy and I hustled downtown to catch the latest puppet show my our friends Kristen and Renee - Rock Time 2009, which was a lot of fun! Daddy and I were even thanked in the programme. Isn't that nice? The puppets were really awesome.

I really wanted some noodles for lunch, so Mommy and Daddy took me to that little noodle place on Queen Street for lunch... after a few bites, though, I decided I didn't like it, which frustrated everyone. I had a mini-meltdown, and then we went back to the car and drove home through the city, and fell asleep to the sound of a nearby speedway.

I played a lot outside, in my room, and with my grandparents while Mommy cooked and Daddy completely crashed and spent the better part of the day sleeping (I think his busy work schedule of the last few months and our New York trip have really caught up with him). We had a great dinner and took the dog for a nice walk.

Laundering

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Today was kinda uneventful... I spent most of it playing. Playing in my room, playing with my toys, playing outside, playing at the computer, playing with Mommy, and playing with Gammy. Meanwhile, Mommy did laundry. Laundry in the morning, laundry in the afternoon, and laundry in the evening. I played, she laundered.

Daddy was supposed to be late at work today, but came earlier than I expected, so the two of us played hide and seek outside and once again took several photos to use in this year's birthday party invitation.

Mommy and I spent some time looking at the Playmobil toy catalogue - I've got my eye on this huge hospital playset, so if anyone out there reading this knows where we can find an available one in the greater Toronto area, my folks would love to know.

Taking Mommy to a Movie

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was on the computer a lot this morning... the day didn't really get goin' until Mommy and I took the bus down to the beaches where we finally went to go and see Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs at te big 3-D movie theatre. I had a great time - Mommy was pretty nervous during some of the scary parts, but I held her hand and made sure she didn't get too frightened. Great stuff!

We did some quick shoe shopping afterwards... Mommy spotted some brown shoes and asked what I thought of them, and I said they were "Dumb". Anyway, Mommy bought a new pair of shoes to replace the ones Daddy destroyed.

After we came home, I got a fancy art pad from as a present from one of Gammy's students (Victor, I believe). Daddy came home from work and helped me draw some pictures and stuff, and then we had a massive tandoori chicken dinner. I got tandoori sauce everywhere, man.

Headache Fish

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy suffered with a terrible headache today - thankfully, I was insanely well-behaved... which makes up for my variable moodiness during our recent trip. I was even kind enough to voluntarily turn down the music on my video games and stuff.

I watched a movie trailer for this flick I can't wait to see... when we reached the end of it, I excitedly told Mommy "DID YOU HEAR WHAT THE MAN SAID?! HE SAID 'COMING THE JULY 4TH WEEKEND'! THAT'S IN SIX WEEKS!!!" Mommy told me that July 4th weekend has come and gone, and we can go catch the movie tomorrow. I'm thrilled!

I drew some nice pictures today, and carefully incorporated specifically chosen colours into the compositions, which is more noteable than you might think.

I dunno why Mommy thought it'd be a good idea to cook fish on a day when she has a headache (she hates fish), but she did anyway. I loved her Halibut (which she couldn't eat), but Daddy had to finish all of our Jamaican Jerk salmon.

Another Failed Scallop Attempt

[As transcribed by Daddy]

It's pretty clear that I'm happy to be home today, because I pretty much played and played with all of my toys today, leaving none out of the equation. While Daddy returned the rental car, Mommy and I went out to the local farmer's market (which has finally re-opened despite the continuing garbage strike) and bought some fruits and veggies.

Later in the afternoon, Daddy took Mommy and I to the grocery store, where we stocked up on groceries and stuff. We came home, Daddy headed out to run a few errands, while Mommy and I had a quiet evening. I made some new dioramas in my bedroom.

Mommy made me a scallop sandwich for dinner - at first I liked it, but then decided that as was the case a few days ago, I still don't like scallops very much. I dunno why my parents keep trying.

Never Underestimate The Power of Google Maps

[As transcribed by Daddy on July 8th]

Mommy and Daddy and I planned on getting breakfast with Cool Uncle Gareth befor eleaving NYC, but I had to go and throw another tantrum, so... we hastily got outta dodge after a sad goodbye to Cool Uncle Gareth. We left New York pretty quickly and after all was said and done, I was really well behaved. We stopped for lunch in Pennsylvania, and aside from another tantrum I threw around the midpoint of our journey, I was a very good girl! I even got a toy to commemorate by good behaviour.

I fell asleep right when our journey got weird - Google Maps had us completely avoid the New York Thruway, and sent us down awesome country roads past vast fields of wind turbines. Daddy wishes he stopped to take pictures.

We got home right before dinner... Mommy and Daddy unpacked while I was reuinted with Gammy and Grandpa and Basil and my toys. We had a great vacation - but I'm very glad to be home again!

Brooklyn Popsicle

[As transcribed by Daddy on July 8th]

Once again, I was up and at 'em first, and kinda woke everyone up. Once my family was mobile, Gareth took us to a nice brunch restaurant where I had some delicious fried grits! I hope to have them again. Then we took the subway back to DUMBO, where we walked around until we found the Brooklyn Flea Market under the Brooklyn Bridge. While Mommy looked around, Cool Uncle Gareth bought me a popsicle that by all accounts was a major highlight of the trip to New York!

We all walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and took the subway to Union Square. We went to a comic book store where I got a Batman toy, and then we all went to a great bookstore where I got lots of good books! Daddy's big record store was closed, so we walked to Washington Square where I played in the playground - then we walked to Mommy's all-time favourite fabric store.

Throughout all this, my mood was very up and down and complainy, and I was quite prone to crying fits and whininess. So... cool Uncle Gareth bought some scallops and we took the subway back to his place where I refused to eat them. Oh well. My parents thought they were good.

After a visit from Gareth's friend Kate, I went to bed -- and am sad that we'll have to leave Cool Uncle Gareth as we go home tomorrow!

The Legendary Frogodile

[As transcribed by Daddy on July 7th]

I was up pretty early this morning, much to Uncle Gareth's chagrin... as soon as we were all ready to go, we went to a local place for brunch (I had rejected the food Cool Uncle Gareth bought for me), and then we ran (and I mean ran) to catch the subway, which we took took to the American Museum of Natural History. It was awesome!! Full of huge dinosaurs, awesome dioramas and animal exhibits, a giant blue whale, outer space stuff, and something we called a "Frogodile." It was cool... we walked and walked and walked!

After a snack, we bisected Central Park (which was lovely) and went to FAO Schwarz. I had a blast! We bought dinosaur toys, I got to dance on the famous piano-floor thing, and I got to look at all the cool toys!

Next, we took the subway to DUMBO, visited an art gallery that Uncle Gareth has some pieces in (see photo), and then looked all over the area for a nice place that was open on the holiday for dinner. We had a great dinner, and as soon as I was full, my slightly tired and moody mood improved! Buuuut by then it was time to go back to Cool Uncle Gareth's. We played with dinosaurs and then I was out like a light...

...missing out on the 4th of July festivities entirely, but that's okay... they moved the display from the traditional East River location (viewable to us) to the Hudson this year.

You Nork

[As transcribed by Daddy on July 7th]

Mommy and Daddy and I unloaded from "My Hotel" this morning and bought some wheat-free groceries in Manchester before eating them for breakfast and then going to the mall. I rode on my favourite carousel and we met up with Zoe, who joined us for lunch. Afterwards, we bid Zoe and New Hampshire a fond farewell, and headed for You Nork City!

Thank goodness I slept through a good chunk of the drive, because I was prone to being bored and complainey. I woke up just as we drove into NYC... we kinda screwed up a slight turn and got a little bit lost in Brooklyn, but eventually made it to Cool Uncle Gareth's apartment.

After he put me upside-down a few times, we walked through hipster-infested Williamsburg, went to a bookstore, had a delicious sushi dinner, some ice cream, played in a playground (entertaining the locals), and even played freeze tag. I was exhausted, but found it extremely difficult to go to bed!

Big day tomorrow - everyone really hopes I sleep well!

Where's my Pineapple? I'm Going to my Room!

[As transcribed by Daddy on July 7th]

This morning I played and played and played with Lola and Olivia in their playroom and outside on the trampoline... then Uncle Ed and Aunt Diane came over and packed us an awesome lunch for our big drive today. I was really sad to say goodbye to the Montreal crew, but I had to anyway...

Mommy and I drove all the way to New Hampshire in a pretty heavy thunderstorm. I was kinda whiny and complained more than usual, but I made it! Once we got to New Hampshire, my parents let me choose our hotel. I chose the Holiday Inn at Manchester Airport, which I christened "My Hotel."

We picked up Zoe in Milford and went to a restaurant for dinner - I had steak. Yummy! Mommy had a blast at Target, we drove to Nashua so that Daddy and Zoe could buy some CDs, we dropped Zoe off at her place, and went to bed at My Hotel.

I picked up the exclamation "Where's My Pineapple?! I'm Going to my Room!" from a funny song - I scream it every time I'm perturbed.

Here Come the [Warm] Jets

[As transcribed by Daddy on July 7th]

Today was a really busy day - I played and played and played and played and played with Lola and Olivia in their playroom and on their big fancy new trampoline outside! Then we all drove out with Mommy and Daddy and Eric and Elizabeth and had a picnic at the Montreal Ecomuseum. It was cool there - we all got to see some cute / angry / happy / albino / flying / antlered / pooping / tethered animals. Next, we drove to a playground, where Eric pushed me on the swings (he's better at it than Daddy), and looming airplanes flew directly overhead.

Then it was back to Eric and Elizabeth's, where my cousins and I got in the hot tub with Eric. At first I was kinda nervous about the whirlpool jets, but I got used to it.

Next we went to Uncle Ed and Aunt Diane's for a delicious taco dinner in the middle fo an awesome thunderstorm! My cousins and I were all pretty wiped out from such a busy day, so we all got crabby and crashed pretty hard while our parents played video games.

It's off to see Zoe in New Hampshire tomorrow!

Slugbait Tuesday

[As transcribed by Daddy on July 7th]

Mommy and I spent the better part of today packing for our big trip - we cleaned up my room so that Aunt Wendy and Uncle Roger could visit it. We all had a nice time - but the anticipation of traveling tomorrow had me really amped the whole time! Gammy gave Mommy a new smoke detector to replace our faulty one, and we went out and picked up some slugbait. Yep - slugbait.

Daddy showed up with the car at around six in the evening... we loaded it up, said our good-byes to Basil and my Grandparents, and then picked up some dinner at the grocery store before heading East towards Montreal. I slept for the final third of the trip, and when I woke, we were at Eric & Elizabeth's house! I went to sleep pretty quickly, but was so excited throughout the night that I kept waking up (according to Elizabeth, who heard it all).
