Matt & Ines

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning I got to play with Cool Uncle Gareth rather briefly before it was time to load into the car and head out for our weekly hike. This time, we stopped downtown and picked up Daddy's friend from work, Matt, and Matt's wife Ines. We all drove out past Georgetown to Limehouse, and had a nice little picnic.

The hike was good - I was very very proud of myself for climbing up and down some ladders as the trail led through some rocky cliffs and canyons (see photos). We made friends with a big orange dog who we named 'Slappy' and I collected a big load of acorns and stuff. After such a long walk, I passed out in the car as Mommy and Daddy introduced Matt and Ines to the Cheltenham Badlands.

I woke up in time to see my new friends off - once we got home, Daddy passed out on the couch as we watched my Dinosaur movie (again), Mommy developed a bit of a headache, and I got to stay up past my bedtime.

Day Camp: Day Six

[As transcribed by Daddy]

After a nice visit with Cool Uncle Gareth this morning, Mommy and I went for a walk in the rain down to the local park, where all of my fellow Day Camp attendees had gathered for a nice end-of-summer carnival! There was a big bouncy castle, lots of games (I was really good at soccer and basketball), fishing stuff, and a really cute interactive puppet show that me and all the other kids really seemed to enjoy!

On the way home, we stopped for the customary post-Day Camp grilled cheese sandwich, and went out to the butcher to pick up some supplies for the weekend. It was pretty crazy and busy... Mommy and I bailed and got a ride home from the subway station from Grandpa. We were tuckered out - I watched my Dinosaur movie again and waited for Daddy to come home from work.

The Blaahst Front

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy put a movie in the DVD player for me this morning, and it took me a minute or two, but was overjoyed when I discovered it was the film version of a Dinosaur book I picked up a few days ago. I absolutely loved it - my favourite part was when the meteor hit, and the blast front (pronounced, as anyone who knows me will tell you, "blaahst front") and everything was destroyed.

As scheduled, Cool Uncle Gareth arrived this afternoon, and I was completely overjoyed to see him... and I pretty much harassed him for most of the afternoon while Mommy baked a pie. I told him all about the fair, my toys, dinosaurs, and that sort of thing.

After Daddy came home, he and I played outside for a bit, and then we joined Mommy and Basil and Cool Uncle Gareth for a walk around the neighbourhood before bed.

I ate a lot of food today.

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Daddy didn't get very much sleep last night - it probably had something to do with the extra shot of espresso the guy at Starbucks accidentally put in his Vivenno, we think. As a result he slept in a bit, and I got to see him for longer than usual this morning before he went to work.

Mommy and I made a whole lot of peach jam today, and some bread. Also, we ate a whole lot of peach jam today, and some bread. I played in my room a lot - making up adventures and stories with my toys. Mommy has a hard time not standing in the doorway, listening to my every word. I had spicy salsa for lunch - and a whole lot of it, too.

Daddy came home from work early, and the two of us watched some television before he and Mommy went to their financial appointment. While they were gone, I helped Gammy and Grandpa make a stir fry, and ate several steaming helpfuls of it. I got a special treat for dessert (besides a popstickle)... Gammy let me have a bath in her bathtub!

Grocery Store Treasure Hunt

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I were off to the chiropractor's this morning - as usual, I played in the exercise apparatus room, and then caught up with Babak and told him all about going to the fair and stuff. Mommy and I then took the bus over to the local farmer's market, where I got to eat a blueberry danish and tried to persuade Mommy to buy strawberries.

We came home and had a decent afternoon inside and outside. We kinda ran out of food today, so once Daddy came home and we all finished off everything we had left in the fridge, we did the grocery shopping. I was a little tired and wired, so my folks spontaneously invented the "Grocery Store Treasure Hunt" game, where I'm given the task of finding something on the shopping list, and then they make a big production when I find it. We found everything on the list, so I was treated to some Starbucks on the way home.

Maybe we can make Grocery Store Treasure Hunt a regular thing!

Just a Caterpillar

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I had a kinda quiet morning - she did some yardwork outside while I played with some of my toys. I had a sweet conversation with my toy caterpillar - I explained to him that even though he dreamt of being a snake, he was really only just a caterpillar. Mommy found that very poignant.

After lunch, Mommy and I took Basil for a nice walk around the neighbourhood - turns out we walked for almost three km (including a lot of slow sections and outright stops). After Daddy came home from work, I announced to all in the house that there would be a puppet show - and then tricked Dad into putting one on for me.

Dinner was great... who'd have thought I'd really love swiss chard?

Pumpkin Soap

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was up and at 'em early this morning - Mommy and I hung out and kinda tidied the place (in case the rumour that cousins Elizabeth and Lola and Olivia were coming over turned out to be true), and eventually we dragged Daddy out of bed and he joined us. Much to my chagrin, the "no TV weekend policy" is still in effect.

After Daddy made me some lunch, we headed out to run some errands. It was hot out there - it felt like the first real summer day we've had in about a year. We grabbed some bubble tea, I got one heck of a massive haul of Hallowe'en-themed pajamas and stuff, and we went on a quest to find some orange handsoap for my little pumpkin-shaped handsoap dispenser. We eventually found it - believe me, you have never seen a kid get more excited about washing her hands.

We grabbed some more mulch, I played outside, had dinner, played some videogames inside while Daddy watched the Olympics, and then passed out with Mommy at bedtime.

Marathons

[As transcribed by Daddy]

We were a little late in getting our act together today, but eventually, after a nice lunch, Mommy and Daddy and Basil and I hopped into the car and drove out to Hockley Valley, where we went for a lovely little hike along the Bruce Trail. I really got a kick out of picking up pine cones, fluff pods, and checking out daddy long legs', apple trees, and mushrooms. Things got pretty hot, and old man Basil started getting pretty tuckered out, so we made our way back to the car. At the end of the hike, it surprised us to discover that we had been walking for 90 minues!

After a quick dinner, it was time for me to go to bed - as soon as my parents were out the door to go see a movie, I snuck up to hang out with my babysitters, who ended up letting me watch an Olympic marathon before trying to put me back to bed. Poor Gammy and Nee-Nee... I was up pretty late with them - I guess I was completing a little marathon of my own, and trying to see if they could keep up.

Moss Milkshake

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Today Mommy and I made 'Moss Milkshakes' [moss, buttermilk, and water, blended together], which we painted in the cracks between the paving stones of our backyard patio and path. In theory, some serious moss should start growing there. We ran out of buttermilk in the process, so we took another trip to the mall to grab some more. We also hit Value Village, where I found the most awesome Dinosaur book... I taught myself to read while I was there.

Next we visited Gammy, who threw us a little tea party with pinwheel cookies, which I loved! Daddy came home with some Thai food - Gammy and Grandpa joined us for a fun dinner.

I was a little bit crabby and cranky this afternoon, so Mommy was happy to see me go to sleep so quickly tonight.

With Three Tomatoes

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I spent a heck of a lot of time outside today! To celebrate her seventh anniversary with Daddy from last week, she finally found the correct drill bit to affix his sixth anniversary present - an iron doorbell - to the outside of the house. While she did that (and put down the mulch we got last night), I played in the laundry, which we hung out to dry on the clothesline.

We took a walk to Marvelous Edibles for lunch - I changed up my customary order, and instead of asking for a grilled cheese sandwich, I asked for a grilled cheese sandwich with three tomatoes.

After Daddy came home from work, he and I played outside a bit, but I was getting really tired, and by the time we had finished dinner and went out to run some errands, I was really cranky and quick to have a tantrum. Putting me to bed was difficult - I was really upset and had a hard time coming down.

Ham of Green Gables

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up this morning and had a surprise visit with Gammy, who is back from her Acadian roadtrip with Aunt Wendy. She brought me back a new shirt and a cute toy from her travels - I can't remember what it's called, though ('Ham of Green Gables'? 'Stan of Green Gables'? 'Hand of Green Gables'?). In turn, I showed her all of my loot from the fair yesterday.

Mommy and I went to visit Julie and Sarah today. Julie was a little under the weather, but Sarah seemed really happy to see me! Steve was there for a bit, and he really made Sarah and I laugh. I tried going to the potty at their house, but it wasn't happenin', and caused some slight frustration. I went once we got home, though, so it was all good.

After a quiet afternoon, Daddy took Mommy and I out to do some shopping for a new pair of shoes and some mulch. Right before we left , though, I snacked on the candy apples Mommy and I brought back from the CNE - I was something of a spaz in the shoe store.

Let's go to the Ex!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Right before noon today, Mommy and I headed off to the fair (the Annual Canadian National Exhibition, to be specific). On the way, we passed a lovely traffic cop, whose ear I talked off (my anticipation of cotton candy and fairground games was palpable).

As soon as we got off of the streetcar downtown (and before we even hit the fairgrounds) I started on about how much I love the fair! We grabbed some terrible carnival pizza, breezed through the "boring" Arts & Crafts building, and hit the Kid's Midway - I rode on the merry-go-round, some little swings, and I went on the Ferris Wheel with Mommy. I had a blast!

I was pretty amazing with the carnival games - and won cheap carny prize after cheap carny prize (and I love them all). I was shockingly good at basketball, in fact, and really took to playing with the lego, maracas, and steel drums in the "Kid's Street" area. We hit the playground, saw a puppet parade, and made the requisite visit to the petting zoo, where I saw some pigs, sheep, lambs, a goat, horses, and all of that other stuff which is nowhere near as interesting as cotton candy or carnival games.

For dinner, I asked a vendor for a hot dog in nary a whisper. When asked to speak up, I shouted "CAN I HAVE A HOT DOG PLEASE" really loud, making everyone within earshot laugh. I also got some french fries and a chicken hat.

Then it was back to the midway for one last ride on the swings, some more games, and cotton candy. After that, we checked out and somehow staggered home (thanks for the ride, Grandpa), entirely missing the "History of the Toilet" exhibit.

What an extraordinarily fun day!

Nine Stores

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I got goin' pretty early this morning - we hopped onto one bus, traded it for another, and went for a nice afternoon nine-store shopping excursion in the Beaches.

First - We went to the LCBO to buy some brandy for cooking purposes.
Second - We went to the Bookstore, where we did some looking around, and I played with the toy train set, and forgot my hat on the floor.
Third - We went back to the Bookstore to get my hat.
Fourth - We went to get a ridiculously overpriced kid's-sized mini ice cream at Baskin Robbins.
Fifth - We went to the cheese shop for some cheese, where I surprised the proprieter with my love of blue cheese.
Sixth - We went to the excellent Ella Minnow, where I got a new book and a new toy dinosaur.
Seventh - We went to Smart Alik and proptly left when we saw the prices
Eighth - We went to a cooking store, where I got really bored,
Ninth - We went to Meat On The Beach, where we got some more groceries

And then we went home!

Better than Hot Cheesecake

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I let Daddy (who is down with a pretty bad head cold) sleep in this morning. When he woke up, I watched television, she tidied, and he organized yesterday's photograph haul until lunch. We all played home hide and seek in the front yard, and then Leslie came over so that we could all go for a hike.

We drove out to Rouge Park and had a fairly decent hike through some heavy flora, despite all the bugs and Daddy's snot-headed crankiness. I had such a good time, I could be heard to exclaim "Walking in the woods is better than Hot Cheesecake." Whatever that means.

Next we did the grocery shopping - Daddy's headache was replaced by a veracious appetite, and he started eating stuff off the shelves. We came home, had a massive dinner, and watched the Olympics - I was really really wound up for some reason, and had a tough time going to bed.

The Upchuck Hike

[As transcribed by Daddy]

It was a fairly eventful day - after watching Canada win its first Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympics with my folks, we had a quick lunch of chicken fingers and leftover corn on the cob.

Mommy and Daddy and Basil and I - plus Grandpa - piled into the car and drove North to York Regional Forest, where we all went for a lengthy hike. Grandpa and Daddy took some great photos, Basil really seemed to show his age, and Mommy and I had a lot of fun!

On the way home, I quite suddenly vomited lunch all over myself, which really scared me. We pulled over, cleaned me up, and I napped... only to wake up to barf all over Basil's head. After a third round of throwing up (poor Grandpa... he finally comes for a hike with us and I upchuck all over his car), we got home, everyone calmed me down, and I had a bath.

Mommy was supposed to go to Shakespeare in the Park with Leslie and friends tonight (Daddy and I were gonna do another movie night), but she didn't feel comfy leaving me, so Daddy went in her stead... it was soda crackers and ginger ale for me tonight. I'm feeling much better, now. Meanwhile, Daddy is still finding pieces of my lunch in his hair.

Zoo Hail

[As transcribed by Daddy]

After a quiet morning, Mommy and I decided to make a day out of it, and took the bus to the mall so that we could grab some nice salads for lunch. After some edamame and corn salad, we caught another bus and took it to the subway station, where we really quickly caught another bus and took it all the way to the zoo!

Mommy and I had a nice time there, slowly meandering and moseying through all of the pavilions and pens and exhibits. We dodged a few freak rain and hailstorms (!), and even found ourselves in the distant Americas pavilion, where we saw some cool owls. I also really liked the Hyenas over in Africa.

I was such a good girl, Mommy let me get a temporary tattoo and a toy at the gift shop. Daddy (sick as a dog from yesterday) managed to somehow pick us up from the Subway station - we were all pretty tuckered out.

A Wolf in Pig's Clothing

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Did I poop in the potty all by myself in the night? Or am I just telling my parents that?

Mommy and I had a nice morning - we hung some laundry on the line, I watched some TV, and did some painting and drawing. We took a walk down to the corner store in the middle of a sunny thunderstorm - I got some gummy bears (since I pooped in the potty), came home, and played video games while Mommy re-arranged the kitchen. I also put on an awesome puppet show about a pig who ate a wolf (Because the pig was the wolf) - I made it all up myself!

A phone guy from our least favourite phone company showed up unannounced right at my bedtime to fix the phone jacks or something... we all had to totally clean up the seriously messy apartment on the spot to make it navigable for overtime-working technicians. Daddy was pretty annoyed - all the dust we kicked up made us all kinda sniffly, too. I got to stay up pretty late as a result.

While cleaning, my parents discovered that I had destroyed many of my toys while playing unsupervised. Uh-oh!

Cutlery Pro

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I crawled into bed with my folks kinda early last night, and then didn't sleep well. Had a bit of a freakout deep into the morning, and woke everyone up... ergo nobody really slept well. Everyone was kinda tired and groggy for the day as a result.

I had a nice visit with Grandpa this morning, and then Mommy and I made bread dough (in lieu of cookies for Basil) - I helped Mommy put some of the clean dishes away, and I put all of the cutlery in the right places (which makes me already better at it than Daddy).

We helped Grandpa paint his office a bit, and then we went home and pulled apart our living room in an attempt to clean whatever it is on the futon that's making us all sneezy. I was a really good girl all day, in spite of the rough night!

I don't really understand.

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I had a quiet morning with Mommy... I watched a lot of television, though, so after lunch Mommy pretty much turned it off. We went for a nice walk through the 'hood... I pushed a few of my toys along on the trip in my little toy stroller. Eventually, I got kinda tired of pushing the stroller along, so I just kinda abandoned it in the middle of the sidewalk. Mommy told me I couldn't get away with that, which I didn't really understand.

Mommy made shish kebabs for dinner - but I know you can't eat raw chicken, so I didn't understand why she was skewering them with ready-to-eat veggies. She explained that they'd all get cooked, but... i didn't really understand.

Before bed, I had something of an accident on the bathroom floor. Mommy asked me if I intended to pee on the floor, and I said yes - but when she asked if it was an accident, and I said yes to that, too. I guess when it comes to this whole 'on purpose / by accident' thing, I don't really understand.

Copper / Wool Anniversary

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I slept in a bit and was kinda groggy and unamused when I woke up and saw the anniversary presents my parents made for each other (a wool felt crow with copper wiring legs from Mommy, and a wool felting book and three "Mommy", "Daddy", and "Clover" copper wire figurines from Daddy). Mommy's cold is still in full force, though, so she was a bit of a zombie today. Incidentally, I think "zombie" is a really funny word.

I'm getting really really good about using the potty - not only am I able to go all by myself now, but I'm so excited about it that I will provide a graphic verbal play-by-play to anyone within earshot. Not much else happened today... I'm getting really fed up with watching the Olympics.

I was the only one eating dinner tonight - Mommy and Daddy had a nice date out after I went to bed.

Rooting for Calamerica

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was into bed with my parents pretty early last night... which was fine, until I woke up a few hours later and pretty much maintained a certain level of movement from that point onward. I didn't sit still until about two in the afternoon, when my flabbergasted folks strapped me into my car seat to take me for a drive.

In the meantime, we watched some Olympics on television, ate some lunch, and just basically hung out. Mommy got a pretty bad cold yesterday and it hasn't let up... so she was kinda tired and groggy, and had a hard time putting up with my frantic shenanigans.

The mall was fine... we looked at tents and sleeping bags and stuff, and I got a bubble tea. Still, I was a bit moody. We came home and I watched more Olympics (I rooted for "Calamerica", where they ride camels) with Daddy while harassing Mommy for one of the really cool-looking mushroom cupcake things she made.

Samosas in the Rain

[As transcribed by Daddy]

After a good vacation and several days of marathon-driving, both of my parents had to go to the chiropractor to get adjusted. While Daddy was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, I played with the exercise equipment. After a quick stop at Best Buy for storage, we went to a nice Farmer's Market by the Brickworks downtown. I enjoyed a samosa in the rain.

Once we got home, I said good-bye to Gammy, who is off on a long road trip with Aunt Wendy. I was kinda cooped up, and because of that I spent a good chunk of time bossing my parents around. Daddy escaped to sell some used CDs and DVDs while Mommy tidied the apartment. Once Daddy got home, we did the grocery shopping, came home, and ate dinner. I watched one of my movies before bed.

Opening Ceremonies

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Basil and Mommy were up before me for once today... I eventually joined them plus Aunt Diane and Nevi - who I played with as we watched a movie and the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. I still believe Daddy's on China's baseball team.

Nevi and his family headed off to New York city, so we loaded up the car, visited with Lola and Olivia and Elizabeth and Oscar quickly, and then drove off for home! I slept for pretty much the first half of the drive from Montreal, waking up in Kingston. We stopped for some lunch and headed back out onto the road - as did some scattered crazy rainstorms. Just once... just ONCE - Daddy wants to have an uneventful, weather-free drive from Montreal to Toronto.

At home, I was glad to be re-united with Gammy and Grandpa - we ordered Greek food for dinner and watched a re-run of the Opening Ceremonies. I was also excited to introduce Woody and Buzz to my bedroom.

Goodbye New Hampshire

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was up early this morning - Nana made me some french toast, which really enjoyed. Mommy woke up and got to work on all the packing... when Daddy got up, he kept me distracted with funny movie clips on the internet before it was time to go to Montreal. We said good-bye to Nana, Jim, Charlie, and an even bigger goodbye to New Hampshire (not 'New Hamster').

The drive from Milford to Montreal was never as fast as it was for us today! I slept for the first half of the trip, and woke up midway through Vermont, where we stopped for a picnic. We avoided several bad thunderstorms, crossed the border quickly, and arrived in Montreal way earlier than we expected. I was really excited to see Aunt Diane! Basil was so happy to see Uncle Ed that he threw up. Twice.

Nevi and Skye and Robin and Brian came over - Nevi and I played together a lot today. Eric and Elizabeth and Olivia and Lola arrived after we all had our dinner, and before long I was sharing a tub with Nevi and Skye!

Tomorrow we're supposed to head home, but... my parents have a feeling that separating me from Nevi will be tough.

Baseball Hats

[As transcribed by Daddy]

It was pouring like a monsoon out there today, so all of our options were kinda limited as far as going out. After breakfast, Mommy and Daddy went out (to the "news store", which has got to be boring, so I didn't want to go), so I stayed home with Nana. We made cole slaw, chocolate chip cookies, lunch, played video games, and rolled around on the floor with Basil and Charlie. We had a great time!

I greeted Mommy and Daddy upon their return by pooping in the potty. Later, Nana and Mommy and Daddy and I went to Kohls, where I tried on a twenty dollar baseball hat, meandered with Daddy, and got kinda bored. Lucky for Mommy, she found an awesome kitchen mixer with the (probably) wrong price tag... we left with Nana having bought her a 300 dollar appliance for about 170.

After some dinner, Mommy and Daddy took me out shopping (again!) to Target, where I got a load of loot - clothes, my customary 'pooped in the potty reward' Buzz Lightyear toy, and a three dollar baseball hat.

Funspot?!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Another action-packed and busy day! Mommy and Daddy and Nana and I loaded into the car (after some shenanigans with Nana's car and a Charlie-chewed seatbelt) and headed North, into the White Mountains. After a picnic lunch, we walked along some raging rapids, and then drove further north to Cannon Mountain, the (former) site of New Hampshire's famous 'Old Man of The Mountain'.

We took a tram up to the very top and had a blast walking along the scenic trails, most of which became engulfed in huge clouds (we didn't mind, beause it was pretty awesome and eerie). We went to the observation deck, and them went back to the tram station where I... ...pooped in the potty?! Wha?!

After an ice cream cone, we took the tram back down and drove back south and quite accidentally found ourselves at the famous site of one of Mommy and Daddy's all-time favourite documentaries - Funspot. My folks had a surrel and weird moment while I had a blast playing skee-ball, Hungry-Hungry-Hippos, bumper cars, whack-a-mole, and other antique games. I threw a tantrum when it was time to leave, and was pretty emotional on the long drive home. After dinner, it took me a long time to calm down enough to sleep.

Pickity / Farm / Potty / Toys

[As transcribed by Daddy]

A big day today! Mommy and Daddy and I went to Pickity Place, one of Mommy's favourite restaurants, hidden in the New Hampshire hilly wilderness. As a huge fan of the 'Little Red Riding Hood' story, I not only enjoyed dinner, but also the decor.

After a quick stop at Nana's, we headed back out again and went to Friendly Farm, my all-time favourite petting zoo... ...or at least it was, until I encountered a real @$$hole of a sheep who screamed and bleated at me, making me cry. I did get to meet a nice cow, though (see photos). We left, and I calmed down.

Nana and Jim planned to show their home to a potential buyer - and then I had to go and poop in the potty, which meant that Daddy had to drive me all the way to Manchester for a Woody toy I had my eye on. It was really late in the day, and Manchester is far away, so... we didn't get back until after my bedtime, and by then we hadn't even had dinner!

Mommy and Daddy aren't jazzed about me having heavily-branded toys, but this was the first time I really wanted one and did something awesome in exchange, so... I was so proud, I announced to everyone I saw in that mall that I had pooped in the potty! The lady at the Disney Store even gave me a free toy, because SHE was so proud of me.

Flea Market?

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning Mommy and Nana and I took a drive over to the flea market (I was originally opposed to going to a market full of 'fleas'). I can't say that I liked it very much... it was kinda boring. But, regardless, I was a really good girl. There was some kid's stuff for me to get into - we ended up leaving with some new books for me.

After lunch, Mommy and Daddy decided to take off to the mall quickly to do some shopping for stuff, so I stayed with Nana, who was very happy to have me with her. We hung out and played together... it was fun! I really like her.

After dinner and dessert, Mommy and Daddy and Basil and I took a short walk in the woods after a good rainstorm... Daddy caught a big toad, but I didn't wanna touch it. I settled for walking in the squishy marsh.

Continuing Birthday

[As transcribed by Daddy]

After last night's arrival in New Hampshire during the wee hours of the morning, you'd figure that we'd all sleep better, but... alas, that wasn't to be. We were all pretty tired - even Nana and Jim, who waited up for us. I was up at seven in the morning! Crazy!

I had a nice visit with Nana and Jim and Charlie, as did my folks - we even had another third birthday party for me in the early afternoon... I got to go to the supermarket with my parents and Nana and pick out a cake!

I got some cool presents, including some clothes, art stuff, and a big doll! After that, Nana and my folks and I went to the mall... I got to ride on the merry-go-round (see photo) and the toy train and stuff, and then I got to buy some crafty stuff with Mommy. I was a really good girl.

We came home, had some dinner, and then we all passed out pretty early.

Day Camp: Day Five

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Daddy had to drive us all to New Hampshire today, so we let him sleep in... in the morning, rather than wake him up by kicking him in the face or crotch (as is my usual routine), I visited Gammy. We had a wonderful tea party!

I went to Day Camp in the afternoon, where we had a lovely fashion show, played games, sang songs, and this time we all went and played in the swimming pool! It was so much fun! Mommy and Daddy and Gammy and Basil were there to pick me up... we went home, loaded up the car, and headed out for New Hampshire.

We got stuck in Toronto traffic early on, but had an easy go of it for the rest of the trip (and really flew through Vermont!). I napped for a good chunk of it - at one point, I dreampt that Daddy was on the Chinese Olympic Baseball team. We stopped at Fuddruckers for dinner on the New York throughway - I loved it, and my folks hated it.

We arrived at Nana's house at about 3 in the morning. I was very happy to arrive... but went to bed pretty quickly, while Daddy struggled to remember his flickr account details in order to blog.

Day Camp: Day Four

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I were up and at 'em roasting some onions for dinner tonight . I had an okay morning, followed by a good lunch, followed by a tantrum-fueled walk to Day Camp. Once I was there, though, I was happy - I gave Iman all the flowers I collected along the way.

Today at camp there was a puppet show - according to me, it was called "Herman the Worman." I also learned a song about a bug (on a wall), and made some cool little clay art-things. Mommy came and picked me up, and then we hung out in the park for a while before heading home to do some tidying, movie watching, and packing for tomorrow's extra-long drive to New Hampshire.

After a lovely dinner, both my parents accidentally passed out, and I got to stay up a little bit before going to bed. We'll see if I let Daddy sleep in - he's got a lot of driving to do after picking me up from camp.

I'm a happy kid living with my parents and our dog in Toronto. I'm goofy, sweet, smart, extremely chatty, and pretty much the cutest kid on the face of the Earth!
