Jelly and Pickle Sandwich

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Today at lunch, I asked Mommy for a jelly and pickle sandwich (with cheese). She dismissed my request as silliness... so I grabbed jelly and pickles out of the fridge and put them on the table for her. She half-capitulated... and made me a ham and cheese sandwich with pickles. When I finished it, I complained about the lack of jelly.

After an average afternoon (no nap) I went to visit Gammy and Grandpa - right when I arrived, so did Cool Uncle Gareth! After about sixty seconds of being somewhat coy, the two of us were joined at the hip. i didn't leave that guy alone for hours - together we played with play dough, we threw a tea party, we played ball, we wrestled, drew pictures... you name it. In fact, I got so amped and excited that nobody could slow me down.

Dadd came home from work and joined the rest of us (including Gammy and Grandpa) for a big chicken dinner. I ate a ton and ran around like a maniac. There was some more playing with Cool Uncle Gareth before bed... and I'm looking forward to hogging more of his time.

Charming the Pants off of the Administrators

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Today was the last day of our pre-school term... we had a nice time. I was more interested in charming the pants off of the administrators than I was with hanging out with Mommy, but that's okay. This other girl and I have been dubbed arch-enemies... we carefully eye each other, are wary of one another, and steal each others' toys. Funny.

Mommy and I stopped at the toy store to buy belated birthday presents for a certain friend out West, bought our customary post-pre-school grilled cheese sandwiches, came home, and dismantled my crib!

We took it apart (as it converts into a full bed) - only to discover that the mattress I have is WAY too small. So... once my belt-tightening father came home and we all enjoyed dinner, he and Mommy drove to Home Depot to purchase some plywood that would rectify the crib size discrepancy. Unfortunately, the plywood wouldn't fit in the car, so while Gammy and Grandpa babysat me, the neighbourhood was treated to the sight of Mommy and Daddy carting huge hunks of wood throughout the chilly night by hand.

Shenanigan Recouperation

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I did Pilates this morning with Mommy, and this afternoon we made a Pizza together... aaaaand that's about the extent of our activity today. The weather outside was positively wacky - it was cool, cold, windy, stormy, sunny, calm, lovely, and then back to being stormy and snowy and windy and then sunny again. We were kinda trapped inside - plus, Mommy's still tired from all of my late-night 'wake the parents up' shenanigans.

As the day wore on and I watched a lot of television, I got a little cranky. Never really tantrum-ish or outright angry, just... obviously tired. I probably should have had a nap, but whatever. After Daddy came home from work and we all enjoyed our Pizza, I tucked him into bed in my room - and he fell asleep!

Shrieking Fit

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Despite the approaching sleet, snow, and rain, Mommy and I managed to go outside and do a whole lot of long-overdue leaf-raking. Actually, Mommy did most of the work. Well... okay, she did all of the work. After that, I made up for my lack of leaf-raking interest by chopping up some mushrooms for a big old shepherd's pie. Fun stuff!

After lunch I asked for some cherries & ice cream... I got impatient, grabbed a bowl off of the table, and Mommy saved both the bowl and my head from colliding. To punish my impatience, Mommy told me I couldn't have any cherries with ice cream, so I responded with a weird 'shrieking fit.' THAT got me punished even more, which led to a BIGGER shrieking fit.

After a nap (on the couch, where I clutched a water bottle), Daddy came home - we played together in my room and he read to me. For Mommy, I shriek. For Daddy, I'm sweet. Them's the breaks, Mommy.

Left-Handed Pitcher

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I woke pretty early, and went about our business - I danced around while Mommy tried to do pilates, Daddy managed to wake up at a reasonable hour, and I demanded pancakes. I won't say that I was especially difficult today, but everyone just seems tired - the barometric pressure change, the fast food from the other day, all the travelling... all three of us were crankier than usual.

Poor Basil had to put up with all of us. In the afternoon, we went for a drive to get me out of the house (and trick me into falling asleep)... it worked too well! Mommy and I passed out... Daddy drove for about 90 minutes, pulled over out by York regional forest, and went to sleep also. Basically, we drove for an hour and a half just to have a nap. Silly Daddy.

We groggily made it back home, where I played with Daddy in my room before dinner. Afterwards, Mommy let me play with the Wii for the first time - apparently, I'm a left-handed pitcher.

Missing Leslie's Party

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up at about 6 in the morning, crawled into bed with my parents, and proceeded to (literally) kick them into submission. Eventually they woke up and made me breakfast.

We visited the chiropractor, where I played in the bumpy ball room, as usual, and then went to one of my favourite restaurants for lunch - Daddy ate a lot, and added to the fast food we ate on the road yesterday, he got pretty queasy. We did some grocery shopping, on the way home from which I fell asleep.

While I snoozed, Mommy and Daddy ran some errands - Mommy went to Old Navy while Daddy and I snored away in the car. We came home, and I played while Daddy napped on the couch. When he woke up, he was feeling better enough to eat baked pasta for dinner... I had a bath, but didn't want to go to bed and miss Leslie's party!

Rock Back Home In Your Underwear

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I were up pretty early with Zoe and Trina and Papa to go and have breakfast with even more of my cousins. As usual, I ate well, and people gave me quarters for the vending machine.

We said bye-bye to Trina and Zoe, who headed home to Virginia, and then with Papa we went to see Miss Maddy and her family. I really liked it there - lots of toys and kids to play frisbee with. Then it was straight to the airport - Mommy and I said bye-bye to Papa and boarded a plane for Cincinnati. I played with my notebook and stickers the whole way.

We switched planes, and on the way to Buffalo I had some ear pressurization problems, and fell asleep just as we were landing. Mommy woke me up, we found Daddy waiting for us, and I immediately asked to play in the Buffalo airport playroom (they were surprised I remembered it). After a few minutes of that, they somehow peeled me away and we headed through the snow (!) for Niagara Falls to cross the border.

Once we got there, the place was all done up with Christmas lights, so we wet for a quick drive around the falls to check out the pretty lights. Once we crossed into Canada, I dissected a cheeseburger for dinner, and passed out like a ton of rocks a few minutes later.

Cousinpalooza

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning, Mommy and Papa and Zoe and Trina and I went to Krispy Kreme donuts - and once again, the idea of going was better than the actual result.

Next we went to Aunt Margaret & Uncle Russel's place - I played and played with my little cousin Tommy Jr. We played with toy trucks, cars, and (non-toy) cats, and went outside and played in the sandbox and on the playground stuff. Then it was off to Woodman Hall, where I was Ljoined by an endless parade of my South Carolina family members (many of whom Mommy didn't know) for a huge BBQ. I made a great friend in my (cousin?) Kristin - we held hands and chased each other and had a great time, and even found another playground to play in. I also ate enough for ten Clovers.

Next, we went to my cousin Kim's place, and I played with my cousins Logan, Mia, and visited with Mommy's grandmother again. Then it was back to Papa's - Mommy was very tempted to put me to bed then and there in the late afternoon, I was so exhausted and wired. But no - it was off to Brenda's house, where I got to watch some cartoons and get mad at Mommy for helping Brenda move a television.

Back to Papa's after a big dinner (man oh man, did I eat a lot today) where I passed out after one verse of one lullabye.

Nonstop Clover

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up this morning and gave Mommy a hug... only to discover that it was Zoe next to me, and not Mommy. I was so excited - I woke everyone up! I was insanely revved all day long - in Aunt Trina's words, it was 'Nonstop Clover."

Mommy and Papa and Trina and Zoe and I did a lot of stuff today. We checked out the local South Carolina stores... I blew about four dollars on Vending Machine toys, we went to visit Mommy's grandmother (I can't say I enjoyed that part at all), we got some colouring books, I bought a weird lizard toy, I met more and more of my cousins (I was hoping to see more of my cousin Chase, who I think is pretty cool), and never stopped eating all day long; Tomatoes, goat cheese, yogurt, a brownie, birthday cake, a cup of dip, pretzels, apple crisp, an egg roll, a box of raisins, a 6-inch meatball sub, Rice Krispies, and more.

We're all pretty exhausted. The intense heat isn't helping... I hear that back home in Toronto, Daddy and Basil just spend all day looking at each other, since they're stuck inside due to the miserable, freezing rain.

Eggs on Paper

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I woke up early this morning - all of the clocks in Papa's house are different, so we went to pick him up at the store for breakfast but were something like an hour early. Breakfast was at McDonalds, which isn't Mommy's favourite, but I enjoyed having eggs on paper.

Daddy's not clear on the sequence of the day's events, but today I fed the animals with Papa (Daddy assumes I met pumpkin, the goat Papa got for me and who he let me name), road the four-wheeler with Papa and Mommy, visited with some cousins and uncles and aunts, encountered some dead rodents in Papa's house, complained that there weren't any toys for me to play with, went to K-Mart, bought some Christmas decorations, and picked out a toy dinosaur, which I've been happily playing with for several hours.

I was also very excited to see trees this morning. We have trees back home, but for some reason I'm really excited to see the ones here.

A Barf-Bag full of Cookies

[As transrcibed by Daddy]

Mommy and Daddy woke me up ridiculously early (even by MY standards), and together we drove off into the... dark? (I found it confusing).

After a quick stop for bagels and several games of "I Spy" we drove and drove and drove until we crossed the border into the United States. We reached the teeny tiny airport in Buffalo, I got to play in a playroom, and then... Daddy left?! Wha?!

Mommy and I then boarded an airplane. I thought it was pretty neat - especially when the snacks started comin'. I ate non-top all the way from Buffalo to Atlanta. The attendants thought I was so adorable that they gave me a barf-bag full of cookies!

Mommy and I waited around the Atlanta airport for a while (she wheeled me around in my carseat) and then we boarded a second plane. Before we even took off, I was asking about the snacks. Once we DID take off, I was asleep.

Papa picked us up in Charleston... I was happy to see him, but aired my opinion that I wanted to go home. I called Daddy on the way to Papa's house... Mommy relayed him this much, and then the phone cut out. Here's looking forward to more cookies!

Meanwhile, Basil is still staring out the front door, waiting for Mommy & I to come home.

Dolls with Daddy

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning was fairly casual for a Sunday... Mommy and I hung out and stuff while Daddy slept in a little bit. After breakfast and helping Mommy start packing for tomorrow's plane ride to go visit Papa, Daddy and I took a quick jaunt to Best Buy to buy some cables. Get this - I turned down Daddy's offer to purchase a new Toopy & Binoo DVD, because I wanted either a Mario game or a 'Purple Racecar Game.'

We came home, I ate as much of Daddy's smoked salmon as I could, and then he and Mommy and Basil and I drove out for a nice afternoon hike in York Regional Forest. I threw a major tantrum when Mommy refused to carry me around... nobody liked that.

I helped Mommy make some dinner, and after playing alone in my room for what seemed like ages, I invited Daddy in to play dolls with me. How cute is that?!

Variety Show

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Miraculously, my cold seems to have, like, vanished overnight. Maybe it was just allergies... who knows. Anyway, Daddy WAS gonna head out to do some voice recording this morning, but that got cancelled, so... we hung out here. Right before we could head out for grocery shopping, family friend Lindsay Slavin and her daughter Jenny (who I've seen via their blog) came over to visit and have [second] lunch with me! At first Jenny and I were shy around each other, but before long I was hugging her, brushing her lovely hair, and running around and stuff. It was a nice visit, and we ate soup.

We then did some grocery shopping (was it ever busy) and got some fruit at Starbucks, where I talked up all the lovely young ladies, regaling them with stories outlining the purchase of my mittens.

When we came home, Daddy and I put on a variety show in my bedroom for some of my stuffed animals (consisting of ballet, magic, portraiture, and songs) which he can't convince me to perform for any actual living, breathing audience members.

Leslie came over next, and we all had a nice visit - I was a little wound-up and cranky, though, and threw the odd fit. After a nice spaghetti dinner and a few more tantrums, I passed out as soon as Mommy put me to bed. I guess it was a busy day.

Runny Nose

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I went to visit Julie & Sarah with our baked goods in tow. We had a nice visit, and the food went over well, but it became apparent after playing with Sarah outside that my runny nose may be the result of the snotty kids at Playschool the other day, and not of the cold weather.

We came home, had a little argument over the placement of a blanket in my stroller (long story), and then had a fairly non-eventful afternoon that included botherina Nee-Nee and helping my grandparents put groceries away.

After Daddy came home from work, I played in my room with him and threw him a pretend picnic party, and then we all joined Gammy and Grandpa for an enormous takeout chicken dinner. After a trip to the fabric store and Starbucks, Mommy put me to bed, but this fast-advancing cold is making it hard for me to sleep.

Don't Call Me 'Miffy.'

[As transcribed by Daddy]

After finishing last night's donuts for breakfast with me, Mommy felt as though we needed a good walk - so we went for an hour-long stroll around the neighbourhood (during which I tried to use my non-existent backpack (?) to create shortcuts). When we got home, we had some lunch, Mommy did some crafting, and then went out for walk #2, down at the lake with Grandpa.

I played at the playground, ran around, enjoyed the slides, and got really upset when it was time to leave. I was also kinda sad that there were other kids there, because I wanted to play (and pose for photos) by myself. I also got quite vocal and angry when people would look at my bunny-hat and call me 'Miffy.'

Mommy and I ate some cereal (which I'd been craving all day) when we got home, and had a long nap. After Daddy got home, we ate some dinner, and then he took us out to buy baking supplies. Before bed, Mommy and I made pumpkin bread.

This does not look like yummy.

[As transcribed by Daddy]

This morning Mommy and I went to playschool - we had a lovely walk there, but once we arrived I became really bossy... I got kinda frustrated when none of the other kids would do what I wanted / what I commanded them to do.

On the way home, we stopped for our weekly grilled cheese sandwich, watched some television, and then Grandpa took me for a nice afternoon walk around the neighbourhood. Mommy made seared radicchio for dinner... while I decided it looked 'yucky', I ate some of it anyway (loved the caper sauce). When Daddy arrived home from work, I informed him of dinner: "This does not look like yummy." He took me out for a donut.

Waiting Room Interrogation

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up in the middle of the night last night, wandered into my parents' room, and brought Mommy back to my little bed with me.

Today I was still slightly moody and prone to get upset pretty easily, but the magnitude was diminished. I guess I figured I'd take things down a notch. Today I mostly got upset about the television schedule and wanting a drink (or not wanting a drink).

Gammy drove Mommy and I to the Doctor's office, where I made friends with a little girl in the waiting room. I think she was a little intimidated and bewildered by my line of interrogation, but my family thought it was funny (especially when I'd announce the girl's responses to my questions for everyone in the room to hear).

Daddy drove Mommy and I to Starbucks after dinner - I totally passed out on the way home after two bites of gingerbread loaf, which works for me because this way I didn't have to suffer Daddy's yucky kisses.

Infant Independence

[As transcribed by Daddy]

At first it seemed like today was gonna be a repeat of yesterday, and to a certain extent it was... I woke up early, couldn't contain my energy while I was trying to lie in bed between my sleeping parents, and had a long list of demands (most of which involved a ridiculously early breakfast). Mommy was NOT looking forward to having another yesterday.

After a particularly fierce freakout (probably over something small and silly, like... wanting a glass of milk) Mommy put me in my room, and I just kinda stayed in there, playing with my toys and putting on ALL of my shirts at once. I guess I'm gaining some level of 'infant independence' (but not enough for my exhausted Mommy's liking).

It was a rainy, yucky day outside, so... I hung out alone, hung out with Mommy, watched some TV, did some playing. Things normalized somewhat in the afternoon, and by the time Daddy came home from work and took us all out fo buy dog food for Basil, I passed out in the car.

A Total Spaz

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Ugh. I was up really early, hopped into bed with my parents, and then freaked out, because I was a total spaz. They kicked me out of their bed and put me in my crib, where I freaked out, because I was fa total spaz.

We did some grocery shopping and stuff this morning, which I was behaved for, but once we came home and it was time for lunch, I freaked out, because I was a total spaz. I didn't eat lunch, didn't get dessert, and freaked out, because I was a total spaz. To get me to stop moving for thirty seconds, my parents took me on an aimless afternoon drive. I fell asleep before we even left the city.

When I got home I kinda freaked out because I was still a bit of a spaz, but calmed down for dinner and drew pictures with my folks in my room. Gammy and Nee-Nee came home from visiting Cool Uncle Gareth, which got me all excited (I was a total spaz again), but miraculously, Mommy was able to get me to calm down enough to go to bed without too much fuss (but first I completely covered my bed and myself with stickers).

Rainbow Butt Monkeys

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I got it into my head pretty early today that I wanted to go to the zoo, so I started bugging my folks to take me as soon as they were out of bed (before, in Daddy's case). Rather than listen to me go on and on about it, they figured we should go as early as possible.

We hit a new Chinese restaurant right before noon, and ordered a mountain of food, which we all enjoyed. Next up, we drove out to the zoo, and for once got to watch a lot of the animals eating. Especially awesome was the octopus, the mandrill (who showed me his butt - click here to see a video clip), and some kids that I made friends with.

I woke up on the ride home from the zoo after a quick nightmare - all my folks could make out through my cries was that I was naked. We came home, ate leftover Chinese food, and all played in my room - we had imaginary picnics, a tea party, and a milk party.

Knocking Down Towers

[As transcribed by Daddy]

When I woke up this morning, I didn't join Mommy and Daddy in bed... I just kinda hung out in my room, reading books.

Mommy sewed me a little doll this morning... it was very cute. We celebrated by going outside and jumping up-and-down in the rain puddles before going for a really really long walk through the neighbourhood. We ate a pizza at a restauraunt (I was a very well-behaved little girl), did even more walking around, and I spit out a jelly doughnut at a Tim Horton's.

Mommy and I spent part of the afternoon building towers out of building blocks in my room. My favourite part: Knocking them over once Mommy built them up.

For the third night in a row, I went to bed (in my bed) without complaint, incident, or issue. Hopefully, I'm on a roll.

Stolen Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls

[As transcribed by Daddy]

If you're the jerk who used our credit card information to ring up a thousand dollars' worth of clothes and Chinese food in Quebec - we all hope you desperately needed those clothes and food to feed and house a very large family. We can't renew our Flickr account until the new credit card is set-up (which is why more than half of the photos on this blog are suddenly blank).

Mommy and I went to the mall this morning to do some cold-weather clothing shopping (mittens, pajamas, etc) and to eat meatball subs. The ladies at Gymboree thought I was adorable.

On the way home, a scary old man with an open sore on his nose scared the life out of me on the elevator in the subway station. I really freaked out... hopefully I didn't embarass everyone too much.

I did a lot of sommersaults on Gammy and Grandpa's bed tonight, and impressed everyone with my clumsy tumbling. I had a little tea party with several of my toys, and after Daddy came home from work (a little bit late from work), he and Mommy taught me about Santa Claus.

The Scallion Pancake

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was such a good girl today. Mommy and I went to playschool - we made necklaces out of Froot Loops, which was fun... and then I realized what Froot Loops ARE, and I proceeded to eat them. A girl took my toy - I told everyone that she wasn't very nice.

I had my weekly grilled cheese sandwich from the restaraunt, Mommy and I did some laundry, did some visiting with my grandparents, and then we played together in my room for hours. I love to play 'restauraunt' - mine is called 'The Scallion Pancake.'

When Daddy came home from work (a bit early, since he got home the night before at 4:30 A.M.) I was happy to see him - I kinda got a bit excited and started acting up. I refused to eat dinner, which caused some problems when we went out for coffee and I wanted a yogurt (but didn't get one).

The biggest news of the day - Tonight I went to bed (in my bed) without complaints or problems - agreeable and pleasant.

Superclover To The Rescue!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I had something of a weird day together. Mommy, who didn't get enough sleep the night before (I wonder why...) was somewhat tired and a little cranky. Luckily, I was there to take care of her.

We did some arts and crafts... made paper Christmas Tress with sparkles, and did lots of cooking with pumpkin. We made pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, and pumpkin puree!

I had another nap meltdown, but Mommy refused to give in to my ranting and raving. After lots of hemming and hawing (and snack requests), I passed out pretty late in the afternoon.

When I heard that Daddy was gonna be stuck at work all night, I announced "I know! I can rescue him! I'm Superclover... to the rescue!" Everyone within earshot thought it was adorable. Then I watched a Dinosaur movie before bed.

Snug as a Bug in a Rug

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I started the day with a short walk to the corner store (where I really chatted up the usually silent gentlemen who work there). On the way back, I spotted a squirrel and uttered this adorable little nugget:

"I wish I could have a squirrel costume and be a squirrel so I could climb up that tree really fast, and you could come too, and we could play with the squirrels."

I also decided that two of my stuffed animal friends (Cinnamon Bunny and Flat Eric) had colds. I bathed them in my play-kitchen sink, tucked them in ("Snug as a Bug in a Rug!"), gave them 30-second naps, fed them breakfast in bed, and then poured imaginary piping-hot coffee all over them.

I had a big freakout before my nap, which involved me tearing my bedroom apart. I got so worked up, I decided that maybe a nap wasn't so bad. After I woke up, I told Gammy some stories, did some grocery shopping when Daddy came home, and tried to adjust to saylight savings time. Still.

Daylight Savings Troll

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Seeing as how yesterday I started off the day trying to kick Daddy out of bed, Mommy felt pity on him and decided to make sure I let him sleep. We did exercises and stuff this morning instead. Once Daddy was up, we all had breakfast, and then he drove Mommy to meet Leslie for their book club meeting.

Once they were off, Daddy and I went to the bookstore (upon my request) to play with some toys, browse some literature, throw stuff off of shelves and onto the floor, and pick up lonely single moms impressed by Daddy's ability to chase after me (and my advanced vocabulary).

Daddy and I came home, prepared lunch, then picked up Mommy and Leslie. At that point, I transformed into a total troll. I whined and moaned and cried and threw tantrums and caused headaches and was just generally 'off.' We all went for a drive out to get some coffee and to drop Leslie off (lucky her), and then I really let my folks have it. I was sent to bed early.

My mood might have something to do with the new molars appearing in the back of my mouth, or my biological clock is all screwed up by the daylight savings adjustment.

Pocket Pinecones

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up pretty early, jumped into bed with my folks, and had a fiesta. I even tried to literally push Daddy out of bed and onto the floor. Is it any wonder he woke up with a screaming headache?

I remained pretty cranky and moody and ornery for the rest of the day, which really tried my parents' patience. I wasn't satisfied with lunch, so I didn't eat it - we went out to Starbucks after that, and then threw a big fit when we didn't go home immediately after (we went for a nice drive instead). I fell asleep in my car seat.

Once I woke up, we all went for a nice walk in the forest, where I made sure to collect pinecones to take to see Papa in a few weeks. We left with our pockets full of 'em. Then Mommy and I did some grocery shopping while Daddy passed out in the car and cut off the circulation to his arms. Once he was able to drive, we came home and ate spicy soup! I watched Daddy play guitar before bed.

The Case of the Missing Mushrooms

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was happy to have a walk with Mommy this morning - we made it a few blocks, and then I realized we were visiting Julie & Sarah, which made me pretty happy. We all had a nice visit - Mommy and Julie prepared some fingerpainting for us, but Sarah and I stood back and complained about it being messy while Mommy and Julie did all the actual painting. I showered a lot of love and affection on baby James, which, I understand, was very cute.

I was hyped to have mushroom soup for dinner tonight! Mommy got all of the cooking materials ready, and was gonna have me slice the mushrooms again... but said mushrooms are nowhere to be found. Neither of us have any idea where our big bag of mushrooms have gone... maybe we left them on the bus yesterday?

Talking to Strangers

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I took the bus down to the butcher's this morning - I made friends with lots of people on the various busses (including a three-month-old baby, who I told all about last night's Halloween jaunt) and at the butcher's and at Starbucks. Man, was I ever chatty... and everyone who I decided to talk to seemed very eager to listen. It's funny how grownups can't get away with the same.

I was kinda sad to be home after such a great morning... eventually I had a nap, and then helped Mommy prepare some shallots for dinner. After Daddy came home from work, we ate some dinner and then drove down to Richard's gallery, where Grandpa had his first-ever photo exhibition!

I had a blast! I mean... sure, it was nice to see Lucie and Richard and Zoe and Grandpa's lovely photos and all of the nice people (some of whom my family hadn't seen in ages)... but the best part was eating from the cheese and sushi trays and running all over the gallery like a maniac. I tired everyone out to the point that Daddy had to take us to Starbucks again.

Congrats, Grandpa!

Happy Halloween!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

What a frantic morning! There was so much to do - first up, Mommy and I had playschool (which I wore my Garden Gnome Halloween to) , where I did a lot of running around, sponge painting, staying away from the mean kid, and spending time with the new staff member who only wanted to play with me!

Next, Grandpa drove Mommy and I to the Doctor's Office, where I played and had Grandpa read the first three pages of every single kid's book in the building.

We came home, carved pumpkins, watched helplessly as squirrels ate or stole our pumpkins, re-carved new ones, and walked to the store in the wind.

Finally... it was time for the long-awaited Happy Halloween!!! I loved every second of it... really tired myself out, but had a blast. Mommy really appreciated all of the great compliments my homemade gnome costume got, and I appreciated the free candy. I had lots of questions for everyone who answered the door when I knocked, and went to bed most likely under the incorrect notion that we'll be doing this again tomorrow night.

My parents never had a better Halloween in their lives.

I'm a happy kid living with my parents and our dog in Toronto. I'm goofy, sweet, smart, extremely chatty, and pretty much the cutest kid on the face of the Earth!
