We've Got Spores!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was up and at 'em early this morning - ready and eager to play with my cousins Nevik and Skye and Robin and Brian! It's nice for my parents that Nevi and I are getting old enough that we actually play with each other and enjoy it, rather than simply existing in the same space. The best part came when we all hung out in the street in front of the house, drew all over the road with sidewalk chalk, and rode Nevi's Likeabike up and down the street! I loved it!

After more playing and some lunch, it was time for the Montreal crew to head home. I was so sad to see them leave - I cried and asked to go with them. To keep me from freaking out, Mommy and Evan took me out while they ran some errands... we finished off the shopping for Gammy's birthday, and went for a lovely stroll in the upper beaches, where we found a nice cheese store and stuff.

Nevi and I liked the partial demo version of the Spore video game we were playing so much that Daddy bought me the full demo version (as well as a Monster movie, seeing as how I loved the one about Toys so much). For some reason, my parents were embarrassed when I'd tell all the store cashiers today "We've got Spores!"

Staying Up Late

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Cousins Robin, Brian, Nevi, and Skye were to come over today, which mad me pretty hyped ever since I was woken up by the crazy thunderstorm this morning. After I woke up my folks, we went to take Mommy to the chiropractor's... I watched closely and once again commented (erroneously) on the anatomy charts.

We grabbed a huge breakfast and started tidying the house for our visitors... after a late lunch, Daddy and I drove Mommy to the butcher's and then dropped her off at the subway so that she could have a nice afternoon with Leslie and friends. I tricked Daddy and watched TV once we got home - he had no idea I had been forbidden from watching any today. Ha-ha! Dinner with my grandparents.

Mommy came back pretty late, but it was okay because I was allowed to stay up late until all or our visitors arrived. Once they got here they were kinda tired - but I was so wired I literally ran circles around them!

Daddy put up the photos from his trip to France. You can check 'em out.

Spider & Paint

[As transcribed by Daddy]

As Daddy was putting his shoe on this morning, he encountered probably the biggest spider any of us have seen outside of a zoo already trying it on. Basil chased it away before we could eliminate it... we lived in fear of it until the end of the day, when Grandpa found and took care of it.

Mommy and I went outside to paint the new patio furniture and had a blast - Mommy took care of the furniture itself, and I made sure I got brown paint all over Mommy's arms, clothes, legs, and underpants. I can't stress enough how hilarious I found it.

After the spider had been taken care of and we had our dinner, Daddy drove Mommy and I to the beaches and we got some ice cream - despite the fact that all the brown paint on Mommy's thighs and underpants made it look as though she had had a really unfortunate accident.

Gingerbread House

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I got into something a tiff this morning when I yelled at screamed at her for brushing my hair. I was sent to my room, from where I angrily bellowed "I WANT MY MOMMA!" She joined me and calmed me down, but only after pretty much the better part of the morning had passed.

After lunch, Mommy and I decided to run a few errands - we went to the drug store for some supplies, and then we went to a restaurant for a snack before heading over to Home Depot to buy some paint for our new deck furniture. I picked out the loveliest shade of 'gingerbread house'.

After we came home, I had a nice chat with Aunt Trina over the phone before dinner. I serenaded Mommy and Daddy and Basil with a bunch of songs, and then played video games with Daddy before bed.

I won't say no to that.

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Today was Wednesday, which means it was time for our weekly playgroup over at the park. It went swimmingly well - I played chase with some of my friends, and my new toy octopus was a huge hit. I kinda invited myself over to Julie & Sara's for lunch, and they were only happy to have Mommy and I. I made faces at baby james and made him laugh... then I devoured all of the shepherd's pie Julie served, and then I devoured everyone else's. We stayed until pretty late in the afternoon!

Mommy and I did a few errands before going home... we bought some stuff and mailed some parcels. I saw a little baby at the mall and told Mommy that I thought he was cuter than me... Mommy said that wasn't the case, and I thought about it for a second before replying "Well, I won't say no to that."

Daddy brought Leslie home from work, which was cool! We all enjoyed a lovely dinner before I had one heck of a great bath.

Pointing out the Bums

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I ate breakfast on the new patio furniture Mommy and Daddy picked up vi Craigslist last night. The marmalade Daddy brought from France sure was great!

Mommy's neck kinda hurt today, so we took the bus over to the chiropractor's office. While he fixed Mommy's neck, I pointed out all of the bums on the anatomy charts. Once we were done, we took the bus to Daddy's neck of the woods... we surprised he and his friends for lunch, and then headed back to his office so that we could go with him as he went home early from work (due to being pretty jetlagged still). On the way home, though, Mommy got really sick, so... we had to go back to his office. But then we left a second time.

I watched TV while Mommy napped and Daddy sorted through his trip photos... I did the grocery shopping with my parents right before dinner, which was pretty cool, and then I was really ready for bed.

Free of Fois Gras

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Daddy was to come home today, so Mommy and I (well, more Mommy than me) spent the morning cleaning up the apartment for his arrival. After a nice quick n' easy lunch, Grandpa and Mommy and I drove to the airport (following the #3s) to the correct terminal to pick up Daddy from France. I said I didn't want to hug him when he arrived, but... once I saw him, I couldn't help myself.

Grandpa and Mommy and I drove Daddy and his friend Paul home. I liked Paul, and had many questions and observations for him. Once Paul was home and we were all back safe and sound (from the surprise thunderstorm and hailstorm - see photo), Daddy gave me some cool presents - an Octopus from la Musée Océanographique de Monaco and a Barbapapa doll (not to mention cool stuff for everyone else, too).

Mommy accidentally threw her cell phone in the wash (coincidentally almost a year to the day after Daddy lost his), so we had a quick light dinner free of fois gras or cow face or frog legs or escargots, and went to the mall. Mommy got a new phone, and then she and Daddy had dentist appointments. I was kinda interested, so I sort of sat in on Mommy's appointment, and even got to rise on the cool chair!

Are we ever happy Daddy is home... and boy oh boy, is Daddy ever happy to be home!

From Leslieville to Bubbleville

[As transcribed by Mommy]

Ummm... so i woke up this morning in Mommy's bed. How did that happen? I'm pretty sure I fell asleep in the tent listening to the rain. Weird. I had rice krispies for my first breakfast today, then I went upstairs where Gammy was eating oatmeal, so I came back down and asked Mommy for banana flavored yogurt. We didn't have any, but Mommy made me some yogurt with bananas, and I got mad because it wasn't oatmeal. Then I ate it. I asked for kiwis and peaches for my third breakfast, but Mommy cut me off.

We met Leslie in the afternoon in... Leslieville? I was a little confused about why Leslie has her own ville, and why I'd never been before. It was kinda boring. We went in some shops. They had invisible stairs, and I kept falling down them. Then we got a cupcake and went to the playground. That part of Leslieville was awesome! Then we took a freight car, no, a street car to Meat on the Beach. There were a lot of people in there, and I wanted to eat all of the baklava and butter tarts, so Leslie took me to Starbucks while Mommy bought the meat. Starbucks was all out of yogurt (grr!) so I got a juice instead. And some noodles.

We took the bus home where Mommy made dinner for me and Leslie, but we didn't play with my new play dough. I really wanted to watch that super hero movie again, but Mommy talked me into one about a Princess instead. It was ok for a little while, but what was really awesome was playing with soap bubbles in the bathroom sink. I got bubbles everywhere! I was so soapy and bubbly that my shirt got washed. After I got rinsed off, I ran around naked and asked to go to bed. I need my beauty sleep because Daddy is coming home tomorrow and I want to look my best. I've missed him so much, and I can't wait to see him or the presents he bought me. I really hope its pastries!

Happy Birthday Zoe and Nee Nee!

[As transcribed by Mommy]

I had oatmeal today for breakfast, just like Gammy. I love Gammy! After breakfast, Mommy and I walked up to the corner store and got some flowers for Nee Nee's birthday from Aunt Wendy and Uncle Roger. I picked some flowers for Nee Nee along the way, too. And I made a nice card with a picture of Aunt Wendy and Uncle Roger to give Nee Nee with her flowers. Then Mommy and I took Basil for a nice walk through the park. We met some other nice doggies along the way. I talked a lot about eating a lollipop, but Mommy wasn't listening.

After almond butter and jam sandwiches for lunch and a bit of gardening outside, Mommy and I had a nice nap. And despite not being tired at all, I slept for 2 hours. When we woke up, Mommy and I called my cousin to Zoe to wish her a happy birthday. I sang the birthday song to her; it was pretty adorable.

In the evening we walked to Shopper's to grab a few groceries to hold us over until Daddy gets home. Then we shared a pizza for dinner, painted our toenails, and watched The Incredibles. That movie was pretty great. I liked the part with the monster the best. Now we're off to spend our second night sleeping in the tent. Good night.

I love you, Daddy!

Hairy Potty

[As transcribed by Mommy]

Today was the first day since Daddy left that we just hung out at home. Mommy had some errands that she kept muttering about, but we never got around to it. It was an ok day, I guess, but I like it better when we go to the playground.

Since we were at home, I had to catch up on my gardening duties. I thought the weeds next door were looking a little droopy so I watered them, and everything else that looked remotely plant-like, and my sandbox, too. I always like to water my sandbox.

While we were outside, Mommy got pretty serious about cleaning up and stuff, and I got pretty bored with it, so I went inside and watched "Harry Potter and the Order of the Felix" with Gammy and NeeNee. I like that movie, but it's not as good as Snoopy.

Mommy made me some lemonade today because I love lemonade, and I helped her make a cake for Nee Nee because tomorrow is her birthday. I only got to have a teeny tiny piece, but it was yummy.

Between making the cake and eating it, after Harry Potter and Snoopy, I peed on my stool in the bathroom. And Mommy did the worst thing ever: she asked me to help clean up the pee pee! It was awful. I fought with a towel and yelled and cried so much that I forgot how to stop yelling and crying so I just yelled and cried and yelled and cried and yelled and cried. Mommy tried being mad at me; she tried snuggling me; she tried singing at me; she tried distracting me; she tried to talk to me; she tried everything to get me to stop yelling and crying until finally she gave up and left me by myself. Then I missed her, so I tried to calm down. When I was able to talk again, we cuddled for a bit then I ate dinner. That made me feel better.

After dinner I went up to say good night to Gammy, Grandpa, and Nee Nee and to ask Nee to save me some cake since Mommy figured it wasn't a good idea for me to have cake tonight, but Gammy and/or Grandpa misheard, so I got to have a very small piece.

I helped sing myself to sleep tonight. It really worked. As soon as Mommy turned my music box on, I was out like a light.

I wonder if I was sad and angry because I miss Daddy so much. I hope he comes home soon.

Holy Crow...er... Crap

[As transcribed by Mommy]

So Mommy forgot to mention that yesterday I heard Leslie say "Holy Crow!" to which I replied, "I think you mean Holy Crap." I think Frankenstein is teaching me words I probably shouldn't repeat.

Anyway, we camped out last night, and it was awesome! I got to sleep with a snail above my head! I slept all night long in the tent, but as soon as the sun was up, so was I. Mommy convinced me to go back to sleep until at least 6. I guess she was pretty tired since Bays, as I like to call him these days, kept her up half the night getting in and out of the covers.

After breakfast, Mommy and I headed out for my favourite place (not really): Fabricland! She bought some buttons or something, and we also got a whole bunch of loot at Value Village. Mommy found an ugly chair to replace the one I peed on, some sheets for fabric, a new picture frame, and a couple of books for me. We walked over to the mall to get some yellow moisturizer for Mommy, then Grandpa came to pick us and our new chair up. Mommy wheeled me around the store in the chair, and I really wanted to ride home in it, but Mommy and Grandpa both said no. I complained loudly.

Mommy and I had kinda thought about going to see a Panda movie in the afternoon, but I was kinda grumpy, so we had a nap instead. When we woke up, it was dinner time! I helped Gammy and Grandpa make a salad for dinner. I liked the egg, chickpeas, and cucumbers, but I did not like the lettuce. I surprised everyone by asking for sesame dressing.

When dinner was over, I didn't want to go back downstairs, so I complained very loudly, but nobody heeded my cries, and I got sent to my room for my efforts. Once I had calmed down again, I talked to Aunt Trina and Zoe on the phone. Then I talked to Papa on the phone. And then I talked to Nana on the phone. And then I talked to Daddy on the computer. And then I went to bed. Goodnight!

I love you, Daddy! Have a nice boat ride to Saint- Tropez!

Oh, I almost forgot. I'm starring in a couple of short films over on Flickr.

Yep Yep

[As transcribed by Mommy]

After my late night partying last night, I slept in a bit today, and was a little bit late for my playground play date with Julie, Sara, James, Patti, Anna, Holly, and Jasmine. We all had a lot of fun. I also met some new friends: Emma, Fiona, their Mom and little brother. Emma and I played together a lot. We looked at mushrooms in the grass, and then played on the playground.

I was a little sad to leave, but then Mommy said we could stop by Marvellous Edibles for my weekly grilled cheese. Yay! We also stopped at the corner store for a few more flowers to put in our garden. After lunch I helped Mommy plant them and water them. We got a new rain barrel installed yesterday, and I can get the water out of it all by myself. I watered all of the neighbor's flowers, too.

We made it inside just before it started raining. Even though it stopped again a little while later, we had a rainy afternoon inside playing with playdough. And then Leslie came over. I showed her our new tent, and taught her how to play tennis, and told her all about TVO kids, and drew a picture for her. We all went to Jawny Baker's for dinner. Leslie caught the bus, and we came home. Mommy asked me once again if I wanted to sleep the tent, and do you know what? I said, "Yep, I do." So... goodnight!

Mommy and I really really really really miss you Daddy! We love you!

Happy Birthday Larry!

[As transcribed by Mommy]

Today was a great day! I got to have ice cream, not just one time, but two times! That's never happened before. The first time was at Julie's, where Mommy and I went to play and have lunch. Sara and I played like good friends today, even though Sara made me angry when she wanted to play puppets after I was all done. I had promised Mommy I would put the toys away when I was finished with them, but I couldn't because Sara was still playing! Mommy said it was ok, though, so then I was ok, too. Sara's Daddy came home, and boy is he funny. He was talking to James, and it was the silliest thing I ever saw. When it was time to leave, I remembered my promise and helped pick up the toys. Mommy was really proud of me.

In the afternoon, Mommy had some boring sewing to do, so I watched Toopy and Binoo. Then I helped Mommy and Gammy make dinner, and we all ate together. My mushroom was too yucky for me, but everything else was good.

After dinner, Grandpa drove me and Mommy to the subway station, and we took the subway to Leslie's house for her birthday. I made lots of new friends. There was lady on the subway #1, and lady on the subway #2; then at Leslie's house I met Leslie's Mommy and Daddy aka Sherry and Phil, Wesley, and Lisa. I had so much fun; I got to eat icing with ice cream, and I pulled a bunch of great books off of the shelf, but I ate too much icing to sit still and read them. I found my long lost joystick from when I was a little boy, I played the piano, and I laughed a lot. Everybody else laughed, too. Phil and Sherry had a fancy car seat, so they gave us a ride home. I talked about Halloween costumes then I fell asleep.

I love you, Daddy! I hope you're having fun in France, but Mommy and I really miss you.

Without Daddy

[As transcribed by Mommy]

I thought we were gonna go to the zoo today, but something about possible thunderstorms in the afternoon made Mommy postpone our trip. Instead, we headed out this morning for my new favourite playground down by the lake. As I told anyone and everyone who would listen, we took two buses to get there. We had a nice walk along Queen Street, with a detour through an awesome toy store, a tea shop, and another store that I thought was boring, but Mommy seemed to like it.

At the playground, I played in the sandbox (see photo), on the swings, and on the trapeze, but I didn't go down the slide. It was too squiggley for me. I told Mommy that going to the playground without Daddy is fun, but really I wished he had been there. We walked back along the boardwalk and got some ice cream before catching the bus home.

Once we were home again, that promised storm arrived (with hail!) for all of five minutes. Later, I helped Gammy make her dinner then returned downstairs just in time to eat my own. I was pretty tired out from all the fun today, so I was really ready for a nice bath and bed.

I love you, Daddy, and I still miss you.

Joyeuse Fête des Pères!

[As transcribed by Mommy]

Since it was Father's Day today, we let Evan sleep in a bit, then we woke him with a nice breakfast and present in bed. He really seemed to like them both. Upstairs, we gave Grandpa a nice card that I picked out myself. I even signed my name by myself with just a little help from Mommy.

In the afternoon, we all piled into the car with Grandpa, and drove Evan to the airport. He's going to Cannes (like a can of noodles) in France, all the way across the ocean. That's a long way. The drive was fun. There was a lot of rain that caused the roads to look like rivers, and I told Evan the same knock knock joke about a million times. I love knock knock jokes. We said good bye to Evan at the airport as I freaked out about not going to the zoo. Mommy considered hitting Daddy over the head, so he couldn't escape.

I was pretty grumpy for the rest of the day. Before bed Mommy and I watched a little TV. I danced along.

I love you, Daddy, and I miss you. So does Mommy.

One for the Books

[As transcribed by Daddy]

First thing this morning, I had a major tantrum and meltdown (I don't even remember what it was about) which woke up the whole household AND the neighbours, it was so loud. No small feat! My folks were worried the rest of the day would only get worse from there, but not as such...

...we went to the chiropractor's, which was nice. We got some lunch from the grocery store on the way home, and had a picnic on the living room floor. More California Rolls and Marshmallow Salad for me, please!

To get in enough Daddy time before he's off to France tomorrow, Mommy and Basil joined Evan and I on a long drive out to York Regional Forest. The mosquitos were INTENSE (not for Mommy, apparently), but we had a great hike - until we decided to take a few detours, which got us completely and utterly lost. And thirsty. And tired. And confused. And agitated (if you hate mosquitos as much as Daddy). It got so bad, Basil started eating MUD. Anyway, Daddy emptied the batteries out of the camera and put them in our old GPS, which helped us find our way out. We were exhausted, thirsty, bug-bitten, somewhat injured, and happy to be heading home. At the end of the day, my parents are stunned and shocked that I kept it together and despite slowing down almost completely, I never lost my cool, complained, or stopped altogether. That three-hour hike sure was one for the books.

I'm gonna sleep well tonight! Anyway, over the next week Daddy will be in Cannes, so in the meantime, I think Mommy's gonna take a shot at keeping the blog. If not, Daddy will get to it when he gets back!

Holy Crap!

[As transcribed by Daddy]

So, I'm playing with Nandy Panda and a bunch of my other toys, and one of them exclaimed (through me) "Holy Crap!" Mommy took note of that. It was probably Frankenstein.

We set up our (cheap) new tent out in the backyard today - it was a lot larger and actually a lot better than we expected it to be, given how much it cost. I was happy to play with my toys, read books, pretend to sleep, and watch bugs in it. I also kept busy by throwing handfuls of grass at the trees. All in all, we were outside for most of the day!

Evan and I played tennis when he got home from work, and then he joined us all for a lovely picnic outside. After my bath, when it was time for bed, I had an intense freak-out when I couldn't get unstuck from my nightgown. I then proceeded to sleep through the mother of all electrical storms.

Richard Who?

[As transcribed by Daddy]

After an uneventful morning, Mommy and I were off to the drug store to get some groceries, but on the way there I informed her that we desperately needed to go to Home Depot to pick up paint chips for my room. So... we did!

On the way home, we stopped by Richard & Lucie's gallery, seeing as how it's been ages since we saw them. I was really happy to see Lucie, but a bit wary around Richard... Mommy suspects I may not exactly remember him, or something. Who knows.

I had a lollipop and a resulting sugar rush, which explains why I so animated and excited while playing with a balloon outside, and after Evan came home from work (with a yoga mat), he joined us for a picnic dinner out on the backyard. We drove to Canadian Tire to buy a cheap tent, but I threw a huge tantrum on the way home. Mommy fell asleep with me while putting me to bed.

Zen

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Mommy and I took a nice walk over to the park this morning, where we joined all the other mommies and kids. I was really happy to see Julie and Sarah - at one point, Sarah fell down, so I brought her a dandelion, which she carried around for quite some time. It was sweet! We went to their house for lunch and to play - Sarah and I played extremely well together, and when I was quite sad to leave, Sarah came and gave me a snuggle and pats on the back to cheer me up.

Later in the afternoon, while we waited for Evan and Leslie to join us for dinner (they were trapped in a subway station), Mommy and I hung out, read some books, and silently enjoyed looking at the sky and taking in the peaceful movements of the treetops in the warm spring air. It was a very zen moment, especially for me.

Evan and Leslie got home an hour before bedtime - we all went to a restaurant where I was a little hyper, but we were all so starving that nobody really noticed how crazy I was being.

One Noodle at a Time

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I slept the whole night in my own bed (through a thunderstorm, even) for the first time in, like, weeks! Yay! When my parents woke me before Evan went to work, I told him all about the dream I had: "I was swimming in a cup of milk. Like a big noodle!"

Mommy and I had a nice day in the lovely weather - we took a trip to the quilting store and checked some stuff out, and even hit the toy store on the way home and bought a new book. Once we got home, we played tennis outside, I went over to visit my grandparents, watched TV, played with my play-dough... the usual stuff.

Mommy made us all a fancy shrimp / eggplant / curry / noodle dinner... I ate that thing one noodle at a time. It took so long that by the time I was finished it was pretty much time for bed.

An Hour with Nandy Panda

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was in bed with my folks at about 4:30 in the morning, and boy, was it ever party time. Evan doesn't remember any of it, so he must have slept through it - all he knows is that I was passed out in bed with Mommy as he left for work.

Mommy and I did some gardening today (I love watering all of the plants, including the weeds), and managed to get in another game of tennis in the back yard (Basil makes a great tennis ball retriever). It started raining, so we came in and hung out... I played alone in Mommy's bedroom with Nandy Panda for, like, an hour! We watched some TV, played with Play-Dough, and had dinner once Evan got home.

He and I played another game of tennis outside, but I got tuckered out and needed to go to bed. He can't believe that the crazy thunderstorm outside isn't waking me up.

Tennis, Anyone?

[As transcribed by Daddy]

At some point in the night, I joined my folks in bed... and together, we all slept in until 10:30! We all got out of bed, rummaged around, waited for reports from Swaziland of Naisa's wedding, had some lovely blueberry pancakes for brunch, talked to Aunt Trina on the phone, and got our show on the road.

We went to the mall so that Evan could buy some more clothing suitable for a Mediterranean beach (not to mention bubble tea and stuff), and then we headed to the sporting good store so Evan could buy some sandals. While we were there, I oddly took to a tennis racket - my folks indulged me, and let me have it.

After we did the weekly grocery shopping, we came home - Evan and I went into the back yard and "played tennis" (he lobbed me a ball and I'd hit it into the ravine in the backyard) for close to a full hour. I loved it, and loved the encouragement and enthusiasm from my father, too.

Dinner, bath, bed. Still sniffly.

The Big Bad Wolf

[As transcribed by Daddy]

It's another hot one out there today, and I've got a gravelly, phlegmy voice to go with it. It's actually kinda cute. After a quiet morning, Mommy and Evan and I loaded up into the car and drove (through traffic) to a nice farm and market and petting zoo just outside the city. We had a great time - Mommy made friends with a goat, I had a hard time with the yelling sheep and the stinky pigs, and got to go for an extremely bumpy tractor ride out to an 'enchanted forest' full of fairy tale dioramas and neat scenes. I was particularly afraid of the big bad wolf at the Little Red Riding Hood diorama.

We bought some snacks and went for another drive over to a nearby mall, where we did some window shopping and stuff. I slept in the car on the way home, and couldn't wait for Evan to make dinner, which he managed not to ruin.

After a nice bath, I had an extremely hard time falling asleep, what with all the day's excitement and my cold.

Hacky And Coughy

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up in the middle of the night with my nose all stuffed-up, and complained that I "couldn't get the boogers out of my nose." I was hacky and coughy all day long.

The heat really turned up outside... it was oppressively hot and humid. Mommy and I took a walk to the drug store to buy medicine for me, and I had to take a break on the way back. After a nice lunch, I tried to play outside but got tired in under 30 seconds and asked to have a nap. Two and a half hours later, I was off playing with my grandparents as Mommy made us all dinner!

Evan took Mommy and I out for a walk at the beach after a quick game of frisbee in the backyard. We had lots of fun - I ran and ran and would have perfectly tired myself out for bed, had I not been so sick and snotty and always coughing.

Congrats All Around

[As transcribed by Daddy]

My fever may be gone, but it really seems as though I'm coming down with something of a cold. Must be the changing weather - rainy and wet, but humid... and it's only getting hotter.

Mommy and I went back to the garden centre today for more plants, but I wasn't really interested in planting any of them. I was interested, however, in all of the new and colourful blobs of play-dough Mommy and I made today. When I wasn't getting fingerpaints everywhere, I was playing with that stuff.

After Dinner, I sang some really sweet tunes to my parents while I had a bath. Then it was off to a restless, snotty sleep.

Meanwhile... congrats to Corrin's sister and my new friend Zoe MacDermott (see photo above) for getting born yesterday morning! And across the planet over in Swaziland, congrats to my good friend Naisa and her family on the occasion of her wedding tomorrow afternoon!

Pantsless Dinner Prep

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Guess what? I slept with Mommy and Basil again last night. Daddy had the couch. The streak continues.

Today I was a little bit whiny and clingy to Mommy. My fever seems to be gone, but I wouldn't exactly claim to have recovered... I was kinda moody and tired today. I stuck to Mommy like glue, particularly while she was trying to exercise. I like to help by running circles around her as she tries to stand on the Wii Balance Board.

Mommy and Gammy and I took a trip to the garden centre, which was fun - after we came home, I offered to help Grandpa make dinner and started to take my pants off for no reason. It was weird. After our dinner, I bailed on a game of frisbee with Daddy outside and asked to go to sleep.

Check out the latest dumb site Daddy's put together with friends at work... it's starting to pick up some traffic.

Bathing Suit

[As transcribed by Daddy]

For what feels like the hundredth night in a row, I woke up in the middle of the night and joined my folks in bed. Once again, I was fidgety and talkative, and Mommy didn't get enough sleep as a result.

It was a gray and rainy day today - we didn't get much outside time. Late in the afternoon, while playing video games with Mommy, I fell asleep all curled up in a little ball in her lap! She was able to put me to bed and then sneak out to take Basil to the vet... I didn't wake up until after she had come home. I was feverish on-and-off today.

After Daddy joined us for dinner (we peeled potatoes together), he took Mommy and I out for a trip to Starbucks and to Old Navy, where I bought my very first real bathing suit! It's adorable!

Well, obviously...

[As transcribed by Daddy]

Once again, I was up in the middle of the night and climbed into bed with Mommy... and fidgeted and kept her awake. I was up early, too, and poor Mommy had to fight to stay awake for a good chunk of the day. As a result, we took t kinda easy - we went to the store, but other than that we just took 'er easy, and I was extremely huggy and snuggly and paid many compliments to Mommy. She deserves them.

After lunch and an afternoon nap (for both of us), Mommy took my temperature, because I felt kinda hot. Turns out I'm running a fever! Both my parents feel kinda silly for not recognizing the glaringly obvious signs from the past few days.

I didn't want to eat dinner - partly because I was enjoying watching the circus on television, but also because I just wasn't hungry. Mommy's cooking and a generous dose of ketchup drew me in against my will, though. Before bed, we all had a nice game of frisbee and ball with my folks and Basil... fun times!

Car Picnic

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I woke up in the middle of the night last night, got into bed with my folks, and drove them crazy. Mommy put me back to bed - once I was asleep, she went back to her bedroom, but I was right behind her. Daddy slept through most of it.

We all did some tidying after breakfast, and then we drove over to pick up Leslie and went to Aberfoyle to visit the big Antique Market there for the second year in a row. We were gonna have a picnic on the way, but the weather in Guelph was so cold and chilly that we ended up inventing the ever-popular "Car Picnic."

Mommy picked up some fabric, Leslie got some containers, and I got really bored. Everyone did their best to keep me entertained... and I did manage to charm the heck out of everyone I met there. I was happy to leave... we picked up some groceries on the way home and had a nice pizza dinner.

Walking from Toronto to Pickering

[As transcribed by Daddy]

I was in bed with my folks pretty early last night... I partied as they slept. It's one of those things that I do.

We were all up pretty early today, Daddy snoozed on the couch while he claimed to be looking after me as Mommy did her exercises. After that, we hung out outside for a while before doing the weekly grocery shopping. We came home, had some lunch, and headed out to the bookstore. Daddy and I sat in the corner and sampled many books before settling on a couple we liked.

We chased a thunderstorm across the city after that, and arrived at Rouge Beach Park. The weather was chilly on the lake, but warm along the river. Weird! We went for a short walk (we walked the tiny bridge over the river from Toronto to Pickering) before heading home, where I played frisbee in the backyard with my folks.

I'm a happy kid living with my parents and our dog in Toronto. I'm goofy, sweet, smart, extremely chatty, and pretty much the cutest kid on the face of the Earth!
